Important: Don’t use detergent or soap to clean the pi ring. Particles might appear in the rinse water
before you use the Optimiser for the first time or if you have not used it for a long time. These particles
are not harmful, although you might need to rinse out the Optimiser more than once to get rid of them.
Using the Optimiser
You don’t need to use the Optimiser with a full jug
of water every time, but don’t run the Optimiser
with the jug less than half full or fill it above
the two-litre mark. Turn the Optimiser on and
press the Mode button once for a 7 minute cycle
and twice for a 9 minute cycle. Press the start/
stop button to commence cycle. The numbers
in the display count down to ‘0’ (zero). At ‘0’ you
will hear a beeping sound, and the word END
will flash, which means the optimising cycle is
finished. Turn off the power by pressing the ‘On/
Off’ button again.
Important: Don’t remove the jug while the Optimiser is running. If you want to stop the optimising cycle
at any time, press the ‘Start/Stop’ button to cancel the cycle.
The PiMag
®
Optimiser has a display function that
shows how many hours you’ve used it. This means
you’ll know when to replace various components
and how often your family drinks optimised water.
1. Make sure the Optimiser is switched off. (You
should still have the electricity switched on)
2. Press and hold the Start/Stop button. While
holding this, press and hold the On/Off button at
the same time.
3. A number will appear on the display, and a
bleeping noise will be heard. This number is
the amount of whole hours you have used your
PiMag
®
Optimiser.
The display will not show a number until you’ve
used the Optimiser for at least one hour. We
recommend you check this function regularly
and replace the pi ring at least once a year or
after every 200 hours of use.
Daily maintenance
After you’ve finished using the Optimiser, unplug
the power cord and remove the jug. Make sure
you keep the base surface dry and store it in a flat
(horizontal) position. For best results, you should:
• remove the pi ring
• gently shake it to remove excess moisture; and
• allow it to air dry on a clean, dry cloth after you
have used it at the end of each day.
Pouring water from the jug
The Optimiser jug has two graphic images on its
cover. When you align the image on the left with
the dot on the top of the handle, the pour spout is
closed.
When you rotate the cover and align the image on
the right with the dot on the handle, the pour spout
is open.

Monthly maintenance
Remove the pi ring from the jug. If the surface
of the pi ring is discolored (which could occur if
you use water other than PiMag
®
water from the
Nikken PiMag
®
Water System), use a soft brush
and running water to clean it. Brush gently, and
rinse.Clean the rotor at least once a month by
gently wash the entire rotor (paddle, top and
bottom sides) with a sponge and water. Rinse it
thoroughly before returning it to the unit. After
cleaning the pi ring and rotor, put them back in
the jug and fill it with PiMag
®
water up to the
maximum line (two litres). Run the Optimiser for a
full cycle, empty the jug, rinse it out and leave
it to dry.
