If the power LED is flashing red, unplug the AC adapter, ensure it's not overheating, and has proper ventilation (at least 10cm of space around the air vents). Wait two minutes, then plug the AC adapter back in and try turning on the power again.

  Your Nintendo Wii U console might be turning off suddenly because of a few reasons. It could be due to dust accumulation around the air intake or vents. In this case, unplug the AC adapter and use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust. Also, ensure that the console is not placed in an area where heat can accumulate or on top of other AV equipment; create at least 10cm of well-ventilated space around it. Another reason may be that the Auto Power-Down feature is enabled, which can be reconfigured in the Power Settings. Finally, unsupported USB devices can cause this issue; disconnect them and only use compatible devices.

Make sure you're charging in an environment between 10 – 35°C. Finally, ensure the battery is correctly installed; if the battery LED is still flashing orange, this may indicate a problem.
