Text Messaging
Your phone supports four text modes:

T9
®
mode: This mode allows you to enter words with only
one keystroke per letter and the phone predicts the word you
want. For example, to enter run, you enter 7, 8, 6 and press
the Navigation key right to select the word, or press the 0 key
to select the word and add a space.

Alpha mode: This mode allows you to enter letters by
pressing the same key until the correct letter displays.
For example, to enter run, you press 7 three times, 8 two
times, and 6 two times.

Number mode: This mode allows you to enter numbers.
n
Symbol mode: This mode allows you to enter symbols,
such as punctuation marks.
TIP: When entering a message, press and hold the
pound (#) key to select Number mode, Prediction on,
or Prediction off.
TIP: To enter symbols, press and hold the * key to open the
symbol menu. Scroll to the symbol and select Insert.
