There are two tools available in the Tools tab.
Check Now...
Defragment Now...
“Check Now” will scan the disk for errors and repair
minor errors. “Defragment Now” will organize blocks so
the drive will be faster to use.

To check your disk, select the “Check Now” option.
If you believe that there are problems with your hard
drive, select the “Automatically fix file system errors”
and the “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors”
options.
