Overview

The NOMA Dupont Outdoor Down Light, model no. 052-9267 (GVS model. CT10529267), is an outdoor lighting fixture designed for downlighting applications. This instruction manual provides comprehensive guidance for its installation, use, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The NOMA Dupont Outdoor Down Light is designed to provide illumination for outdoor spaces. Its primary function is to cast light downwards, making it suitable for illuminating pathways, entryways, or specific architectural features on a building's exterior. The fixture is designed to be wall-mounted and features a protective glass and guard assembly, suggesting durability and suitability for outdoor environments.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model Number: 052-9267-8
  • Voltage: 120 V AC
  • Wattage: 1 x 60 W (Type A bulb)
  • Net Weight: 2.42 lbs (1.1 kg)
  • Dimensions (L x D x H): 4 ¾ x 6 ¼ x 13 ¼ inches (12 x 16 x 34 cm)
  • Bulb Type: Requires one 60W Type A bulb (not included). Users are warned not to exceed the recommended wattage to avoid product damage or personal injury.

Usage Features:

The fixture is designed for straightforward installation and operation.

  • Mounting: It attaches to a standard electrical box using an easy-connect mounting bracket and electrical box screws (not included).
  • Wiring: The manual provides two options for connecting house wires:
    • Option 1 (Single Wires): Direct connection of electrical stripping wires (Black/Live, White/Neutral, Green/Ground) from the electric box into the correct inserts.
    • Option 2 (Multiple Wires): For multiple green, black, and white wires joined in the electrical box, a single "green," "black," and "white" jumper wire (6 inches, AWG 12-24, supplied) should be attached first, with 7mm stripped from the jumper wires, before connecting them to the fixture's inserts.
    • The fixture's own wires (Black/Live, White/Neutral, Green/Ground) are then connected to the corresponding inserts.
  • Securing the Fixture: After wiring, the fixture is positioned over studs on the mounting bracket assembly and secured with star washers and cap nuts.
  • Bulb Installation: The guard and glass components must be removed by unscrewing nuts and rubber washers to install the specified bulb. After bulb installation, the glass and guard are re-tightened to the fixture.
  • Weather Sealing: Crucially, after installation, the top and side perimeter between the fixture and the wall surface should be sealed with weather-resistant caulking to prevent moisture build-up. The bottom should be left un-caulked to allow for drainage and prevent moisture accumulation. A small amount of caulking is also recommended around the side perimeter between the cap nut and mounting plate.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: To clean the fixture, users must first turn off the power and allow the fixture to cool. It should then be wiped with a clean, soft cloth.
  • Safety Instructions: The manual emphasizes several safety precautions:
    • Always read all instructions before installation.
    • Turn off electrical power before starting installation.
    • Wiring must comply with local electrical codes.
    • Installation must be performed by a person familiar with construction, operation, and associated hazards.
    • A warning about the risk of electric shock states that servicing should only be performed by qualified personnel, and only according to the operating instructions.
    • A critical warning advises turning off the electrical current to the outlet prior to installation.
    • Another warning advises against exceeding the recommended wattage to prevent product damage or personal injury.

Warranty:

The NOMA Dupont Outdoor Down Light comes with a five (5) year repair warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. Noma Canada agrees to repair or replace defective parts free of charge within the warranty period, provided proof of purchase is presented. The warranty explicitly excludes wear or breakage due to misuse and/or abuse.
