If the account you have selected is one you want to delete from this NOOK, tap
Remove Account. You’ll be asked to confirm the deletion, so either tap Cancel or
OK. If you tap OK, the account will be deleted from the NOOK. You can always
re-add it by tapping Add Account.
Calendar Settings
The NOOK features a powerful calendar option. The caveat is that it must be con-
nected to a Microsoft Exchange account. Most people do not run Microsoft
Exchange, which is typically an enterprise management system. If your company
does use Microsoft Exchange, you still may not use the NOOK’s calendar depending
on security restrictions. The following settings are viable only if you have connected
your calendar to a Microsoft Exchange account.
When you receive an invitation to attend a meeting, go to a play, and so on, you can
decline those events. If you decline them, they still appear in the calendar. Tap Hide
Declined Events to remove their visibility. Some people may like to keep those
declines visible in case their time frees up and they can accept the invitation.
Each year has 52 weeks, and if you want to see in your calendar what week number it
is, turn Show Week Number on.
Some people say the week starts on Sunday. Others like to make it Monday. Others
think Saturday is the beginning of the week. All have good reasons to think so. The
Week Starts On option enables you to adjust when the week starts, which adjusts how
the calendar looks (That is, when you look at the calendar, what day it is appears on
the far left beginning each week of the calendar.) The default option is set for Locale
Default [sic]. So wherever your location is (and the NOOK is aware of it), the calen-
dar adjusts accordingly.
If you are traveling, you may want to have the calendar show the local time zone for
meetings. (You live in Los Angeles, but when you travel to New York, you may want
to show meetings on New York time.) If, however, you would rather always show the
calendar entries in your home time zone, check this option. In the example, regardless
of where you are (New York, Chicago, or Paris) your calendar will always show Los
Angeles time for the meetings. If you do elect to have the calendar always show your
home time zone, the option below that becomes available. You can tap Home Time
Zone and select it.
Clear Search History enables you to clear all searches you have made in the calendar.
As you enter search items, your NOOK remembers what you have typed in calendar
searches and attempts to assist you as you begin typing additional searches. For
example, if in the past you searched for Dinner Date and in a new search you begin
by typing D, the search box displays Dinner Date and any other search items that
