Do you have a question about the Nordmende WM1480DIX and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is a user manual for a Nordmende washing machine, specifically models WM1480DIX and WM1280WH. It provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
The Nordmende washing machine is designed for domestic use to wash laundry. It offers a variety of wash programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels, including cotton, synthetics, wool, and delicate items. Users can customize wash cycles by adjusting temperature, spin speed, and selecting additional functions like pre-wash, extra rinse, easy ironing, and rapid wash. The machine also features a half-load detection system to optimize water and energy consumption for smaller loads. An electronic display provides information on the selected program, remaining time, and active functions, while a child lock feature prevents unintentional operation.
The machine is equipped with a 10-amp earthed plug for electrical connection. Water inlet connections can be single (cold) or double (hot and cold), with a maximum hot water supply temperature of 70°C. The water drain hose should be installed at a maximum height of 100 cm from the ground.
Preparing Your Laundry: Users are advised to follow care label instructions, separate laundry by type, temperature, and dirtiness, and never wash colored and white laundry together. Foreign objects like nails, needles, lighters, and coins should be removed from garments and pockets. Zips should be closed, hooks and eyes fastened, and metallic curtain hooks removed or placed in a washing net. Textiles should be reversed, and small items like socks and handkerchiefs should be washed in a net.
Loading Laundry: The door should be opened, laundry spread evenly inside the drum, and the door gently pushed until it clicks shut. Care should be taken not to exceed the maximum load to avoid poor wash results and creasing.
Adding Detergent: The detergent drawer has compartments for liquid/powder main wash detergent (II), softener/conditioner/starch (III), and pre-wash detergent (I). The amount of detergent depends on water hardness, load size, and soil level. For slightly soiled clothes, a small amount of detergent goes into compartment II. For excessively soiled clothes, pre-wash detergent goes into compartment I and the rest into compartment II. Softener should be placed in compartment III, not exceeding the MAX level, and thick softeners should be diluted.
Operating the Machine: After plugging in and turning on the water supply, users select a program using the program dial. Additional functions can be chosen before starting the program. The Start/Pause button initiates the cycle.
Program Selection: The program dial allows selection of 15 programs, including Rapid 15', Daily 60', Cotton 90°C, Cotton, Shirts, Mix, Sport, Hand Wash Delicate, Eco 20°C, Easy Care, Wool, Rinse, Spin, and Sensitive/Hand Wash.
Additional Functions:
Half-Load Detection System: Automatically activates for loads less than half the maximum capacity, reducing time, water, and energy consumption.
Child Lock: Activated by pressing and holding additional functions 3 and 4 simultaneously for at least 3 seconds, preventing unintentional operation. Deactivated by the same action.
Cancelling a Programme: Turn the program dial to "STOP," then to any other program to drain the machine and cancel the cycle.
Programme End: The machine stops automatically, displaying "END." The door can be opened to remove laundry, and it's recommended to leave the door open to dry the drum.
General Warning: Always unplug the machine and turn off the water supply before any maintenance or cleaning. Avoid using solvents, abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners, or all-purpose cleaning agents on the machine's plastic surfaces and components.
Water Inlet Filters: Filters prevent dirt from entering the machine and should be cleaned every 2 months or when water intake is insufficient. This involves unscrewing the inlet hose(s), gently pulling out the filters with long-nosed pliers, cleaning them with a soft brush and soapy water, rinsing, and re-inserting. Clogged filters due to lack of maintenance are not covered by warranty.
Pump Filter: The pump filter prolongs pump life by preventing lint entry and should be cleaned every 2 months. It's located behind a cover on the front-lower right corner. To clean, open the cover (using a washing powder spade or liquid detergent level plate), place a container underneath to collect water, loosen and remove the filter by turning anti-clockwise, remove foreign materials with a soft brush, re-fit by turning clockwise, and ensure the cover mountings align before closing. Wait for hot water to cool down before cleaning.
Detergent Drawer: Residue can build up over time, so the drawer should be removed and cleaned every 2 months. Pull the drawer forward, press down, and pull it out. Clean with water and a soft brush, including the housing, and dry thoroughly before sliding back. Do not wash the detergent drawer in a dishwasher.
