4 Usingthetwo(2)PhillipHeadScr ews(provided),securethe
backplatethedoor(ordoorframe).
5 Ensurethatthealignmentarrowonthemagnetislinedupwith
themiddlemarkonthesensor(seeFigure1ThinDoor/
WindowContact—SensorandMagnet).
6 Usetheadhesive(provided)tosecurethemagnetasfollows:
SingleDoorInstallation.Onthedoor.
DoubleDoorInst
allation.Onthemostuseddoor.
IMPORTANT: Themagnetmustbenomorethan0.4in(1cm)
awayfromthesensor.
NOTE: Ifyouarenotusinganexternalinputwire,skipstep7
andcontinuewithste

7 Ifyouareusinganexternalinputwire,dothefollowing:
7a Threadtheexternalinputwirethroughthebase.
7b Insertthetwopinconnectorintotheexternalinputwire
jackonthe(seePartCinFigure2ThinDoor/Window

act—BackplateandBatt
eryCompartment)cover.
8 Replacethesensorbackplate.Ifapplicable,ensurethatthe
externalinputwireisconnectedtotheNCdrycontactdevice.
NOTE: TolearnhowtoprogramasensorintotheControlPanel,
seetheControlPanel sInstallation&ProgrammingGuide.
Inserting and Replacing the Batteries
Toinsertorreplacethebatteries:
1 Atthetopofthesensor,pushdownthecliptounlockthe
sensorsbackplate.Then,gentlypulldownonthebackplateto
removeit.
2 Placeasmallflatheadscrewdriverintheslotbetweenthemetal
clipandbattery(seePartFinFigure2ThinDoor/Window
Contact—BackplateandBatteryCompartment).
3 Holdingdowntheraisedplasticedgeinthebattery
compartment,gentlytwistthescrewdrivertopopouteach
battery.
IMPORTANT: Alway sdisposeand/orrecycleusedbatteriesin
accordancewiththehazardouswasterecoveryand
recyclingregulationsforyourlocation.Yourcity,state,or
countrymayalsorequireyoutocomplywithadditional
handling, recycling,anddisposalrequirements.
4 Insertthereplacementbatteriesinthecompartment.Theplus
(+)signofbothbatteriesshouldbefacingupandtheminus ()
sidefacingdown.
WARNING: Failuretofollowthesewarningsandinstructions
canleadtoheatgeneration,rupture,leakage,explosion,
fire,orotherinjury,ordamage.Donotinsertthebattery
intothecompartmentinthewrongdirection.Always
replacethebatterywiththesameorequivalenttype(see
Specificationsonpa
ge2).Neverrechargeordisassemble
theb
attery.Never
placethebatteryinfireorwater.Always
keepbatteriesawayfromsmallchildren.Ifbatteriesare
swallowed,promptlyseeadoctor.
