This document describes the Numatic TTB3045NX, TTB817NX, TTB3045NX-R, and TTB817NX-R scrubber dryers, which are auto-laveuses (automatic scrubbers). It provides original instructions for operation and maintenance.
Function Description:
The Numatic scrubber dryer is designed for cleaning floors by scrubbing and drying them simultaneously. It uses a brush or pad to scrub the floor with a cleaning solution and then a vacuum system with a floor tool (squeegee) to retrieve the dirty water, leaving the floor dry. The machine is battery-operated, providing cordless operation.

Usage Features:
- Setup:
- Brush/Pad Fitting: Features the Nulock brush system for easy push-and-twist fitting and removal of 18" brushes or 16" pads. Safety gloves are recommended for changing used brushes.
- Floor Tool Fitting: Designed for quick fitting, allowing easy squeegee blade replacement and a safety knock-off feature if snagged. It's easier to fit when the machine's weight rests on the brush.
- Hose Guide: The vacuum hose has a U-bend clip to prevent water spillage when the vacuum is off.
- Clean Water Tank Filling: Can be filled using the FLEXI-FILL pipe from a tap or hose, or from a bucket via the large cap. It has a MAX line indication and a clear dump hose to visualize the water level. Caution is advised to prevent contaminants from entering the tank. Non-foaming chemicals recommended for auto scrubber dryers should be diluted per manufacturer specifications.
- Handle Height Adjustment: The handle position lever allows adjustment to a comfortable working position.
- Battery Fitting: Requires opening the battery door, ensuring battery locks are open, inserting two fully charged batteries, and securing them with the locks before closing the door. It's crucial that battery locks are fully engaged before operation or moving the machine.
- Operation:
- Floor Preparation: Before cleaning, appropriate warning signs should be placed, and the floor should be swept or dust-mopped.
- Lowering the Floor Tool: The floor tool lever should be moved to its lower position. Caution: Do not pull the machine backward with the floor tool lowered, as this may damage the blades.
- Raising/Lowering the Brush Deck: To lower the deck for operation, press the brush deck locking pin and rotate the deck. To raise it for transit, simply lift the deck, and the spring-loaded locking pin will activate.
- Cleaning Controls: The battery charge level is displayed. Water flow can be turned on/off and adjusted using the fluid control tap. The vacuum can also be turned on/off.
- Starting: To start the brush with configured water and vacuum settings, pull either trigger and press the Start switch.
- Error Indicators: System error indicators (flashing battery lights) help identify faults, with different flash patterns indicating low or high priority errors (e.g., low battery, battery over temp, communication failure, over current).
- Brush Pressure/Load Adjustment: Deck pressure weights (11kg, optional additional 11kg) can be added or removed to adjust pressure on the brush or pad for optimal performance on different floor types.
- Breakaway Floor Tool: The floor tool is designed to safely disengage from its mounting if it catches on an obstruction during forward movement. Re-attachment involves loosening retaining knobs, sliding onto the bracket, and tightening.
- Double Scrub Technique: For heavily soiled floors, pre-scrub with the floor tool raised, allow chemical dwell time, then scrub a second time with the floor tool lowered.
- Safety: Do not operate on inclines exceeding 2% when full. Reduce speed when cornering or maneuvering around obstacles.
Maintenance Features:
- Daily Maintenance:
- Keep the machine clean.
- Check brushes/pads/squeegee/filters for good condition and replace worn/damaged parts immediately.
- Drain and rinse the dirty water tank after every use.
- Store the machine with the brush deck secured in a tilted position.
- Weekly Maintenance (in addition to daily tasks):
- Check and rinse the brush or pad and skirt.
- Check floor tool blades for wear and wipe clean.
- Clean the separator assembly, including the filter, and check the seal condition.
- Flush the entire system with clean water and clean filters.
- Regular Maintenance (after each use):
- Empty waste water tank using the emptying hose and flush with clean water.
- Remove the floor tool vacuum hose and flush with clean water.
- Empty the clean water tank using the emptying hose and flush with clean water.
- Remove the separator (by pressing toggles) and examine its sealing rubber. Rinse with clean water, avoiding the vac filter.
- Remove and flush the filter fitted into the separator.
- Remove the debris basket filter and rinse with clean water.
- Clean the clean water filter located under the left-hand side (ensure tank is empty before removal).
- Changing Floor Tool Blades: Periodically examine blades for wear and damage. Removal involves removing four retaining pins, turning the floor tool over, separating the blade carrier from the body, and peeling blades from locating lugs. Blades are reversible to extend useful life.
- Batteries: Always re-charge batteries after use. Only use original Numatic chargers.
- WEEE (Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Recycling: Scrubber dryer accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmentally-friendly recycling. Scrubber dryers no longer suitable for use must be separated, collected, and sent for recovery in an environmentally-friendly manner, not disposed of with household waste.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): A risk assessment should determine necessary PPE, which may include ear protection, safety footwear, head protection, safety gloves, dust/allergens protection, eye protection, protective clothing, hi-vis jacket, and a "Wet Floor" sign.
- Safety Precautions: Always ensure the machine is switched off before any adjustments or maintenance. Read the manual before use. Do not use steam cleaners or pressure washers. Do not allow inexperienced or unauthorized operators to use or repair the machine. Do not leave the brush pad on the machine when not in use. Do not lift or pull the machine by operating triggers; use the main handle. Remove batteries before maintenance or lifting.
- Battery Information (Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery 36V | 8400mAh | 300Wh | 10INR19/65-3):
- Handling and Storage: Insert battery only when in use, remove for transport. Storage temperature range: -10°C to 55°C (optimum 15°C to 25°C). Protect from short-circuiting, rain, direct sunlight, heat, fire. Do not open, disassemble, drop, incinerate, or use defective/deformed batteries. Store in a protected, dry area away from heat/sunlight, preferably below 25°C.
- Defective Batteries: Faulty batteries must not be returned via postal system or courier. If showing signs of impact damage, distortion, blistering, loose parts, liquid ingress, or leakage, they must be considered defective and discharged in a salt water container (25 liters of saline water at 15g common salt/liter, fully immersed for at least 2 weeks) in a well-ventilated area. Discharged batteries should be stored in a locked, plastic-lined waste container away from buildings and clearly marked.
- Fire Fighting Measures: Keep clear of vapors, remove batteries if safe, cool/extinguish with water (by trained personnel with sufficient water), use ABC powder extinguishers if hazard is unclear. Firefighters should wear protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Accidental Release: Wear protective gear, wipe up with absorbent textile, dispose of as hazardous waste.
- First Aid Measures (for electrolyte contact): Eye contact: flush with clean water for 15 minutes. Skin contact: wash with plenty of water and soap. Inhalation: provide fresh air/oxygen. Ingestion: seek medical attention.
- Charging: Charger for flat surfaces, uses detachable power cord. LED indicates charging (RED) or fully charged (GREEN). If battery temperature is too high, LED flashes RED for up to 40 minutes until temperature is acceptable.
- Warranty: 3 years, provided all battery care rules are followed and only correct Numatic charger is used. Serial number, battery date code, purchase date, proof of purchase, and maintenance history are required for claims.
