This document describes the Nutribullet Fresh blender, designed for healthy and delicious nutrition. It serves as a user guide, covering important safeguards, assembly, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Nutribullet Fresh is a personal blender primarily used for blending cold or room temperature ingredients and liquids to create smooth and creamy results. It is designed for household use and is suitable for preparing various mixtures, including smoothies, salsas, and chopped ingredients. The device operates by pressing and twisting the cup onto the motor base, activating the extractor blade to blend the contents. A "Pulse Technique" is also available for achieving chunkier textures, such as those desired for fresh salsa or chopped onions, by quickly pressing and releasing the cup on the power base.
Usage Features
The Nutribullet Fresh emphasizes ease of use and safety.
- Assembly: To use the blender, the motor base should be placed on a clean, dry, level surface. Ingredients and liquid are added to the Nutribullet cup, ensuring they do not exceed the MAX line. The extractor blade is then twisted onto the cup until tightly sealed. The power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet, and the cup assembly is inverted and placed onto the motor base, gently pushed and twisted to begin blending.
- Blending Time: Blending should not exceed 1 minute to prevent overheating and pressure build-up. If longer blending is needed, a 1-minute pause is recommended between cycles. The device should not be run for more than three consecutive 1-minute intervals.
- Ingredient Temperature: Only room temperature or cooler ingredients (below 21°C) should be blended. Hot ingredients are strictly prohibited as they can cause pressure to build up, leading to expulsion and potential injury.
- Liquid Requirement: Liquid must always be added as one of the ingredients. The Nutribullet is not intended for use as an ice crusher or for blending without liquids, as this can damage the blade and motor.
- Carbonated Liquids: Carbonated or effervescing ingredients (e.g., baking soda, baking powder, yeast, cake batter) should never be blended, as released gases can cause the cup to burst.
- Post-Blending: After blending, the contents should be allowed to settle, and any built-up pressure should be released by slowly unscrewing the cup blade assembly, always pointing it away from the body. Blended mixtures should not be left in a sealed cup for long periods, as fermentation of sugars in fruits and vegetables can cause pressure to build up.
- Blade Handling: The extractor blade is sharp and should be handled with care to avoid laceration injuries. It should never be stored in the motor base unattached to a cup.
- Pits and Seeds: Blending pits from fruits like cherries, plums, peaches, and apricots is discouraged as they contain a chemical that releases cyanide when ingested. Avoid blending pits in general as they can damage the blade.
- Dry Ingredients: The extractor blade is not designed for grinding dry ingredients such as grains, cereal, or coffee. Dedicated milling blades are available for this purpose.
- Cup Compatibility: Only cups and blades specific to the Nutribullet Fresh model should be used to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Unattended Operation: The Nutribullet should never be left unattended while in use.
- Unplugging: Always unplug the Nutribullet when not in use, and before assembling, disassembling, changing accessories, or cleaning.
- Ventilation: The motor base has ventilated openings at the bottom to prevent overheating. These openings must remain unobstructed by dust, lint, or other materials. The blender should be operated on a dry, level surface with unobstructed space around the motor base for proper air circulation. It should not be placed on flammable items.
- Thermal Breaker: The motor base includes an internal thermal breaker that shuts off the motor if it overheats. If this occurs, the unit should be unplugged and allowed to cool for at least 15 minutes before attempting to use it again.
Maintenance Features
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the Nutribullet Fresh.
- Initial and Post-Use Cleaning: All parts, except the motor base and blade, are top-rack dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be hand-washed with warm soapy water and rinsed.
- Motor Base Cleaning: The motor base should be wiped down with a damp sponge or dishcloth. A small brush can be used to clean the actuator system area. The motor base should never be submerged in water.
- Blade Cleaning: The extractor blade should be washed with warm soapy water and rinsed immediately after use to prevent ingredients from sticking. It is important to dry both sides of the blade completely before storage. The blade should not be washed in a dishwasher, as high temperatures can warp the plastic and damage the gasket.
- Gasket: The gasket on the blade should never be removed, as this will permanently damage the blade and cause leakage. If the gasket becomes loose or damaged over time, the extractor blade must be replaced.
- Blade Replacement: The extractor blade should be replaced every 6 months or sooner, depending on usage, to maintain optimal performance. Signs indicating a need for replacement include a bad smell, leakage of brown or green liquid, louder blending noise, the gasket coming off the blade, burning air, or if the machine fails to start due to sticky activator tabs.
- Cup Inspection: The tabs on the sides of the cups should be regularly inspected for damage (cracking, crazing, breakage, or rounding). Damaged cups should be discontinued and replaced immediately to prevent personal injury.
- Cord and Plug Inspection: The cord, plug, and machine should be periodically inspected for damage. Do not operate with a damaged plug or cord.
- Electrical Safety: The cord, plug, or motor base should never be immersed in water or other liquids. The product should not be used in locations with different electrical specifications or plug types, or with any type of plug adapter or voltage converter device. Modifying the plug or motor base will void the product's warranty.
- Storage: Always power off and unplug the Nutribullet when not in use.
- Service: Do not attempt to repair or service the appliance yourself. For assistance, contact customer service.
- Environmental Responsibility: The product is marked for responsible disposal and recycling to prevent harm to the environment and human health from uncontrolled waste disposal. Users are encouraged to use return and collection systems or contact the retailer for safe environmental recycling.
