Install cylinder head and the other
parts in accordance with the proper
installation procedures.
PISTON
Removing the Piston
Refer to following procedures in this
subsection to remove:
- Cylinder head
- Cylinder.
Place a rag under piston and in the
area of timing chain compartment.
△WARNING
Piston circlips are spring loaded
Remove one piston circlip and discard
it.

NOTE: The removal of both piston
circlips is not necessary to remove
piston pin.
Push piston pin out of piston.

Detach piston from connecting rod.
Inspecting the Piston
Inspect piston for scoring, cracking or
other damages. Replace piston and
piston rings if necessary.
Using a micrometer, measure piston at
8mm perpendicularly (90
°
) to piston
pin.
