Correct disposal of old appliances
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled garbage can on
an electrical or electronic appliance, the packaging or
instructions for use indicates that the electrical or
electronic appliance must not be disposed of with
normal household waste but must be collected
separately. You are obliged to dispose of this appliance
and accessories separately from household waste.
Waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed
by the old appliance, as well as lamps that can be
removed from the old appliance without destroying
them, must be separated from the old appliance without
destroying them before being handed in at a collection
point. Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment,
including food retailers, distance sellers and mail order
companies, are obliged by law to take back waste
equipment free of charge if it exceeds a certain sales,
storage or shipping area, if you buy a new appliance
from the distributor or if it is a small old appliance that
does not exceed certain dimensions. Further
information and details on these take-back options and
obligations can be obtained from the respective
distributor. End users, including private users, should
contact their public waste disposal authority to find out
where they can return the old appliance for
environmentally friendly disposal. Commercial end
users have additional manufacturer-specific options for
return, which they can inquire about directly with the
manufacturer. Please delete all personal data on your
device yourself before handing it in at a collection point.
