2.2- Sizeandspecicationsoftheroominwhichtoinstalltheairconditioner
• Beforeinstallingtheairconditioner,itisessentialtomakeanaccuratecalculationoftheheatloadin
summer(andcoldloadinwinterformodelswithheatingpump)atthesiteofinstallation.
• Themoreaccuratethiscalculationismadethebettertheairconditionerwillbeabletodoitsjob.
• Whenexecutingthecalculations,referdirectlytotheprevailingstandards.
• Forparticularlyimportantapplications,werecommendcontactingexpertheatingengineers.
• Theusershouldtrytolimithighheatloadsasmuchaspossibleasfollows:glassdoorsandwindows
exposedtomanyhoursofsunlightshouldbettedontheinsidewithcurtainsor,evenbetter,onthe
outsidewithcoveringssuchasVenetianblinds,verandahs,refractivelm,etc.).Theair-conditioned
roommustremainclosedaslongaspossible.
• Halogenspotlightsorotherelectricalequipmentwithhighpowerconsumptionshouldnotbeusedinthe
room(toasters,steamirons,hotplatesforcooking,etc.).
2.3 - CHOOSING THE POSITION OF THE UNIT
Toobtainthebestoperatingperformanceandpreventfaultsorhazardousconditions,thepositionofindoor
unitinstallationmustmeetthefollowingrequirements:
a. Donotexposetheappliancetoheatorsteamsources(g.3).
b. Makesurethatthespacetotherightandleftisatleast60mmandspaceabovetheunitisatleast80
mm.(g.2).
c. Theheightoftheunit’sloweredgefromtheoorshouldbeatleast100mmifxedtothewallinthe
lowestposition.Ifxedtothewallinthehighestposition,itshouldbeatleast80mmfromtheceiling
(g.2).
d. Thewallwheretheindoorunitistobexed,mustbestable,strongandsuitabletosupporttheweight.
e. Itmustbepossibletoleaveroomaroundtheunitforanymaintenanceoperationsthatmaybenecessary.
f. Nothingshouldbeinthewayoftheairthatneedstocirculatebothonthetopair-intake(curtains,plants,
furniture)andatthefrontwheretheairexits.Thiscouldcauseairswirlsthatwouldinhibittheworking
efciencyoftheunit(g.3).
g. Donotspraywaterorotherliquidsofanykinddirectlyontheunit(g.3).
h. Theappliancemustnotbepositionedsothattheairowisdirecteddirectlytowardsnearbypeople(g.
3).
i. Neverforcetheopeningoftheairowap(g.3).
l. Donotplacebottles,cans,clothes,owersoranyotherobjectontheairsuctiongrille(g.3).
m. Donotinstalltheairconditionerdirectlyonanotherhouseholdappliance(TV,radio,fridge,etc.),oron
aheatsource(g.3).
