Why doesn't my Olympus iS-3 DLX Camcorder focus even though the AF illuminator lights?
    • B
      Brenda RomanAug 17, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder is not focusing on the subject, ensure the subject is within the AF illuminator's working distance (approximately 1.2 to 7 meters). Also, be aware that autofocus may struggle with subjects that have low contrast, such as those that are blue or black. You can try using the power focus or move the camera closer to the subject.

Why is my Olympus iS-3 DLX picture out of focus?
    • J
      Jason WashingtonAug 19, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder picture is out of focus, it could be due to camera movement when pressing the shutter release button. Ensure you hold the camera correctly and press the button gently. Another reason could be that the viewfinder's autofocus frame was not positioned correctly. Make sure to position the autofocus frame on the subject, or use the focus lock feature.

Why doesn't the flash fire on my Olympus iS-3 DLX Camcorder?
    • R
      Rebecca ArnoldAug 22, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder's flash doesn't fire, it could be because the battery has not been recharged. Wait until lights. Alternatively, if the shutter speed is set faster than 1/100-sec (except in Manual Exposure and Portrait modes), set the flash mode to one other than Fill-in.

    Joy WheelerAug 25, 2025
What to do if the subject cannot be focused on with my Olympus iS-3 DLX Camcorder?
    • J
      Jonathan JohnsonAug 25, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder subject cannot be focused on, and the subject is moving too fast or the camera is being shaken, the autofocus may not work. Focus on the subject by using the power focus, or by first focusing on something at the same distance as the subject. If the subject is closer than the camera's minimum working distance, use the Macro mode. Also, if the PF mode is engaged, cancel it, as autofocus will not operate when PF mode is active.

    Wayne ValenzuelaAug 28, 2025
What to do if my Olympus Camcorder picture is too dark?
    • M
      Mary AndersonAug 28, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder picture is too dark, it might be because the subject is out of the flash's working range. Try shooting within the specified working range of the flash. Alternatively, if the subject is backlit, set the flash to Fill-In mode to improve the lighting.

    Jeremy RobersonAug 30, 2025
Why do eyes appear red in my Olympus iS-3 DLX Camcorder pictures?
    • M
      Misty BryanAug 30, 2025
If the subjects' eyes appear red in printed pictures taken with your Olympus Camcorder, this is likely due to the red-eye phenomenon, which occurs when light from the flash reflects off the retina. To significantly reduce this effect, use the Auto-S Flash mode.

    Maria RothSep 2, 2025
What to do if the shutter doesn't release on my Olympus Camcorder?
    • B
      Benjamin MoodySep 2, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder's shutter doesn't release even when you press the shutter release button, it might be because the subject is not in focus. Ensure the subject is in focus and the autofocus indicator in the viewfinder is lit. Another possibility is that rewound film is still loaded; remove the film to resolve this.

How to troubleshoot an Olympus Camcorder that does not work?
    • L
      lisahernandezSep 5, 2025
If your Olympus Camcorder is not working, first, ensure that the power switch is set to ON. If it still doesn't work, check if the batteries are loaded correctly and reload them if necessary. If the batteries are exhausted, replace them with new ones. In cold conditions, keep the camera warm as the batteries may be temporarily unable to function. Finally, if the loaded film has been rewound, load new film, or if the film is incorrectly loaded, reload it.

Why do the displays turn off suddenly on my Olympus iS-3 DLX Camcorder?
    • C
      Christina BenjaminSep 7, 2025
If the displays on your Olympus Camcorder turn off suddenly, it's likely because the LCD panel and viewfinder displays turn off after approximately 30 seconds (or 5 minutes when the flash is flipped up) if the camera is not used. To turn the displays back on, press the shutter release button halfway.

    rachelthomasSep 10, 2025
Why are the shutter speed and aperture settings blinking on my Olympus Camcorder?
    • C
      Christopher HatfieldSep 10, 2025
If the shutter speed and aperture setting blink on your Olympus Camcorder, it indicates that the light metering function is not working correctly, usually because it's too dark. In Manual Exposure mode, ± will also blink. Try using the flash to provide additional light.
