Function Description:

The Omega ODW702WB/ODW702XB is an automatic dishwasher designed for domestic household and similar applications. Its primary function is to clean dishes, cutlery, and cookware using various wash cycles and detergents. It features a rinse aid dispenser to prevent water spots and streaks, and a filtering system to remove food particles from the wash water. The appliance is designed to handle up to 12 place settings and includes a half-load function for smaller loads, which helps save time, energy, and water.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features program indicators, a display screen for remaining time and status, program selection button, delay button, power button, start/pause button, and a child lock button.
  • Wash Cycle Table: Offers several programs including:
    • Intensive: For heavily soiled loads (pots, pans, casserole dishes with dried food).
    • Heavy: For heavily soiled loads (pots, plates, glasses, lightly soiled pans).
    • Normal: Standard daily cycle for normally soiled loads (pots, plates, glasses, lightly soiled pans). This is the test cycle for AS/NZS 2007.1.
    • 60 min: Daily wash in 1 hour for lightly and normally soiled plates and pans.
    • Quick: Shorter wash for lightly soiled loads that do not need drying.
    • Soak: Shorter wash for lightly soiled loads that do not need drying.
  • Half-Load Function: Available for most programs (except rapid and soak) to save time, energy, and water when washing about or less than half of a full load. All spray arms operate during this function.
  • Loading Baskets:
    • Upper Basket: Designed for more delicate and lighter dishware like glasses, coffee/tea cups, saucers, small bowls, and shallow pans. Its height can be adjusted to create more space. Cup shelves can be folded down for better stacking.
    • Lower Basket: Recommended for large and difficult-to-clean items such as pots, pans, lids, serving dishes, and bowls. Features folding spikes for better stacking.
    • Cutlery Basket: Designed for cutlery with handles at the bottom. Sharp items like knives should be placed with points down or horizontally in the upper basket.
  • Detergent Dispenser: Requires refilling before each wash cycle. Uses less detergent than conventional dishwashers; generally, one tablespoon is sufficient for a normal load. Concentrated detergents and detergent tablets are supported, with a recommendation to use longer programs for tablets to ensure complete dissolution.
  • Rinse Aid Dispenser: Automatically adds rinse aid during the last rinse for spot and streak-free drying. The dispenser has six or four settings for adjusting the amount of rinse aid dispensed.
  • Program Modification: A running cycle can be modified if it has been running for a short time. If detergent has already been released, the dispenser must be refilled.
  • Adding Forgotten Dishes: Dishes can be added any time before the detergent cup opens by pausing the machine, opening the door, adding items, closing the door, and resuming the cycle.
  • End of Wash Cycle: The dishwasher signals completion with a buzzer. It is recommended to wait about 15 minutes after the cycle finishes before unloading to allow dishes to cool and dry better.

Maintenance Features:

  • Filtering System: Consists of a coarse filter, a flat (main) filter, and a microfilter (fine filter). The filter system efficiently removes food particles and should be cleaned regularly (once a week for the entire assembly).
  • Caring for the Dishwasher:
    • Control Panel: Clean with a lightly dampened cloth and dry thoroughly.
    • Exterior: Use appliance polish wax. Avoid sharp objects, scouring pads, or harsh cleaners.
    • Door: Clean edges with a soft, warm, damp cloth. Avoid spray cleaners to protect the door lock and electrical components.
    • Seals: Periodic cleaning with a damp sponge prevents odours caused by trapped food.
  • Cleaning Spray Arms: Hard water chemicals can clog spray arm jets and bearings. Spray arms should be cleaned regularly. The upper spray arm can be removed by rotating it clockwise, and the lower spray arm by pulling it upward.
  • Protect Against Freezing: In winter, measures should be taken to cut off electrical power, turn off water supply, disconnect and drain the inlet pipe, and soak up water from the sump.
  • After Every Wash: Turn off water supply, leave the door slightly open to prevent moisture and odours.
  • Long Periods of Non-Use: Run an empty wash cycle, remove the plug, turn off water supply, and leave the door slightly open.
