Basic settings
For even sound, every input channel should be adjusted to the same level. For monitoring, connect the mixer
to headphones or a speaker system and set the output controls to mid-position. To control a channel, feed
an audio signal (test signal or music) to the respective input channel and advance the channel fader to
position 0. Adjust the gain control so that the level indication lights up in the 0 dB range. Using the GAIN
control, drive the signal to the 0-dB mark. This way you have a vast amount of drive headroom for use with
very dynamic signals. The CLIP display should light up only rarely, preferably never. While fine-tuning, the
equalizer should be set to neutral.
Operation with a computer
The USB port allows transmission of digital audio signals in both directions between the mixer and the
computer. As soon as the mixer is connected to a computer, it will be recognized as a standard USB audio
device and the required drivers are installed.
You can control the mixer using the standard audio interface controls in the Mac and Windows operating
system. For data transmission from the mixer to the computer the USB interface of the mixer must be
selected as the recording device. For data transmission from the computer to the mixer the USB interface of
the mixer must be selected as the playback device. Open your playback/recording software to make the
required adjustments for audio playback via the mixer or for audio recording from the mixer.
Depress the routing switch [9/10/USB] (12) to switch the audio signal coming from the computer to stereo
input channel 9/10. With the selector switch 2-TR/USB it can monitored via headphones and a monitor
system. For recordings with the computer, the USB port sends the digital master signal.
Note
• If the mixer is connected to both a computer and to a unit grounded via the mains cable (e.g. amplifier),
noise interference may occur due to ground loops. To eliminate this interference, a ground isolator (e. g.
OMNITRONIC LH-082) may be used to connect the mixer to the unit.
Digital effects processor
The built-in stereo effects processor produces high-grade standard effects such as reverb, chorus, flanger,
delay and various combination effects. The built-in effects module has the advantage that it does not need to
be wired up. This excludes the danger of humming or level mismatch right from the start and thus
considerably facilitates use. See the table below for description. Use the PROGRAM control to select an
effect preset. The effect selected is indicated in the display. Use the FX (17) control to adjust the level of the
effects module sent to the master channel.

Note
• If the effect processor is used, the AUX RETURN input must not be reserved because the left output and
the right output respectively of the effect processor are muted when connecting both jacks.
