Operation
Setup
1. For the following operations, aside from this tool kit, you will need a manifold
pressure gauge, a vacuum pump, refrigerant, and connecting hoses.
2. Turn the knobs on the high and low-pressure couplers counterclockwise to
fully seal them. Do the same for your manifold gauge.
3. Connect the couplers to the charging hoses of the matching color on the manifold gauge, which
usually has a blue hose for low pressure and a red hose for high pressure. Use the provided
1/4” to 1/2” adapters if needed. Make sure the couplers and the hose match in color. Tighten
the connection manually to fully lock the connection.
Warning! Overtightening using a wrench may damage the O-ring inside the connections,
causing leakage.
4. Locate the low and high-pressure servicing ports on your vehicle and connect the right couplers
to them by pulling back and releasing their sleeves. Put the caps away.
Diagnosing the A/C System
1. Repeat the steps in Setup to get the tools ready and connect the couplers to the right service
ports.
2. Check that all the coupler knobs and gauge knobs are fully turned to their closed positions.
3. Start your vehicle, turn on the A/C, adjust your fan to low, and let the A/C run until the gauge
readings stabilize.
4. Consulting your vehicle’s labels or service manual, check that the gauge readings are within the
specications stated and that the A/C system is operating properly. If so, stop the A/C system,
turn o the vehicle, and disconnect the hoses from the system.
5. If the pressure shown on the gauges diers from the manufacturer’s specications, nd out why
and make the necessary repairs.
Evacuating Refrigerant & Contamination
1. Repeat the steps in Setup to get the tools ready and connect the couplers to the right service
ports.
2. Connect the remaining hose, which is usually yellow and in the middle of a manifold gauge, to
a vacuum pump.
3. Turn the coupler knobs clockwise to fully open them. Turn the knobs on the manifold gauge to
fully open them.
4. Connect the vacuum pump to power and ip it on.
5. While the pump working, check the readings on the manifold gauge against your vehicle’s
stated specications. Stop the pump when the readings comply. Turn the knobs on the gauge
to fully close it.
