Overview

The MYJG-50W Laser Power Supply is an essential component for laser engravers, designed to convert standard power into the high-voltage power required for a laser tube. This lightweight and compact power supply is engineered for ease of operation and high compatibility with various 50W CO2 lasers, supporting both active-high and active-low machines. Its design incorporates a half-bridge soft switching capability, which significantly enhances both efficiency and response time.

Function Description:

The primary function of the MYJG-50W is to provide stable and appropriate power to a laser tube, enabling its operation for engraving tasks. It intelligently inspects the laser signal and the water cooling system, ensuring safe and efficient performance without the need for additional heat-generating ballast resistance often found in similar devices. This integrated monitoring helps prevent malfunctions and ensures the longevity of the laser system. The power supply connects directly to your system, featuring standard installation holes for straightforward integration. Its design aims to maximize the performance of your laser device while extending its service life.

Usage Features:

The MYJG-50W is designed for user-friendly operation and integration. For initial setup or replacement, the device includes a screw terminal block for connecting to the main power input. If replacing an identical unit, you can simply plug in the old terminal block. For new installations or replacements of devices with different configurations, clear instructions are provided for wiring. The first bank of terminals handles the main power input, including connections for the ground wire, neutral wire, and live input from a 110/220V power source.

The second bank of terminals connects the power supply to the engraver's control system. This section includes connections for active-high devices (H), active-low devices (L), a line to the laser trigger and other systems like water cooling or door switches (P), a ground wire for the control system and PWM level shifters (G), input power for PWM level shifters or potentiometers (IN), and a 5V connection for digital signals (5V). Using separately colored wiring is recommended for clarity during installation.

A notable feature is the integrated Test Button. In scenarios where the laser is powered but fails to fire, this button can be used for troubleshooting. If pressing the Test Button successfully fires a test beam, it indicates that the problem lies with the display panel, controller, or their wiring. Conversely, if the laser fails to fire even with the Test Button, it suggests an issue with the power supply itself or its connection to the laser, prompting the user to contact customer service.

Maintenance Features:

Maintaining the MYJG-50W involves adherence to specific installation and operational guidelines to ensure its longevity and safe performance. It is crucial to install and remove the device only when all power to the engraver is turned off and disconnected. While the device can operate as an open circuit for a short period (less than 5 minutes) without grounding, proper grounding is essential for normal operation. The use of engraving machines with a three-prong plug and a ground terminal is recommended, along with an EMI filter.

Users must exercise caution to ensure that the positive and negative output terminals are correctly connected to the corresponding poles of the laser device before use. Extreme care should be taken around the high-voltage anode wire and its connections due to the inherent risks.

A critical maintenance aspect involves the laser's water cooling system. The power supply is designed to work with systems equipped with a protective sensor in their water system, which will automatically cut off power to the laser if a malfunction is detected. For systems without such a sensor, it is imperative to manually ensure the proper operation of the water cooling system before each use, as it is no less important for the laser's health.

Environmental control is also vital for the power supply's proper operation, similar to the CO2 laser itself. It should be kept in a room with controlled temperature and humidity. The acceptable temperature range for the device is specified, and the acceptable humidity level is also defined to prevent operational issues.

The device has undergone rigorous quality-assurance testing, including tests for voltage withstand, insulation resistance, operational capacity under high temperatures, power cycling, vibration resistance, and ground wire current leakage. These tests ensure the device's reliability and safety, contributing to a mean time before failure of over 30,000 hours of use.
