How to troubleshoot Onga Swimming Pool Pump that does not run?

      Ariel BryantAug 9, 2025
If your Onga Swimming Pool Pump does not run, begin by verifying that the power outlet is functioning correctly by testing it with another electrical appliance. Check the fuse and replace it if necessary. If the automatic thermal overload has tripped, switch off the power to the pump and allow the motor to cool before switching it back on. Ensure the pump and motor have adequate ventilation and that the pump isn't jammed with debris, allowing the motor shaft to spin freely. Also, ensure that the motor is not operating on a low voltage supply. Check for any blockages in the pump or suction strainer. The motor bearings may be seized.

      Paige HerringDec 1, 2025
If your Onga Swimming Pool Pump operates with reduced or no flow, start by checking the plumbing to confirm the valves are correctly positioned for filtering, including those on the suction or discharge. Also, make sure the water level in your pool is at least halfway up the skimmer opening. Ensure that both the hair & lint pot basket and skimmer basket are free of leaves and other debris. Make sure that there is no blockage at the pumps suction or discharge and the pump internals are free of foreign matter which may block the flow of water. Finally, clean the filter, as a dirty filter can also cause reduced flow. Re-prime the pump and check for air leaks in the suction piping or fittings. Ensure the hair & lint pot lid is closed and airtight and that there are no leaks coming from beneath...
