Why does my ooma Telephone voice constantly break up?

Voice quality depends on your Internet connection's speed and quality. For optimal performance, connect your Ooma Phone Genie between the modem and router. This prioritizes calls over other network traffic. To optimize bandwidth allocation, connect a computer to the HOME port, go to setup.ooma.com, and click the Advanced tab.

What to do if the light is blinking red on my ooma Telephone?
    • D
      Debra LiAug 6, 2025
If the light is blinking red, verify that you have activated your device. If you plugged it in before activating, reboot it. Also, check that your network cables are securely plugged in and that the INTERNET port is connected to your router (or modem). The LED at the bottom right of the connector will be lit green if the cable is connected properly. Check that your Internet connection is working by connecting a computer to the HOME port and browsing to my.ooma.com. If you don't see the login screen, troubleshoot your Internet connection. You can also try rebooting your Phone Genie, modem, and router by unplugging them and plugging them back in.
