Usage Features

Device Layout and Components

The front of the Optus X Tap includes an Earpiece, Front Camera, Proximity & Light Sensor, Indicator Light, and a Touch Screen. On the side, there are Volume Keys and a Power Key. The nano-SIM/microSDXC Card Tray is also located on the side. The back of the device features a Dual-lens Camera, Flash, Fingerprint Sensor, and NFC area. At the top, there's a Headset Jack, and at the bottom, a Speaker and a Charging/USB Type-C Jack.

SIM and Storage Installation

The nano-SIM card can be installed or removed while the phone is turned on. To install, use the provided tray eject tool to open the card tray. Place the nano-SIM card and, optionally, a microSDXC card onto the tray as shown in the diagram, then carefully slide the tray back into place. It is crucial to use only standard nano-SIM cards and the included tray eject tool to prevent damage to the phone.

Powering On/Off

To power on the phone, press and hold the Power key. To power off, press and hold the Power key to access the options menu, then select the power off icon. If the screen freezes or becomes unresponsive, holding the Power key for over 10 seconds will restart the device.

Charging

The phone should be charged using only approved chargers and USB Type-C cables. Connect the adapter to the charging jack on the phone and then to a standard AC power outlet. Disconnect the charger once the battery is fully charged. If the battery is extremely low, the phone may not power on immediately; it may require at least 20 minutes of charging before it can be turned on. The battery is non-removable, and attempting to remove it could cause fire or explosion.
