What to do if the pilot light won't stay lit on my Orbis COMFORTVIEW Heater?
    • J
      Jane GreenJul 31, 2025
If the Orbis Heater's pilot won't stay lit, first, make sure the gas control knob fully popped up; check its position and the gas control rod's movement after removing the front cover. A jammed gas control valve might need replacement. Second, check the thermocouple connection, ensuring it's centered in the pilot flame; replace it if needed. Finally, if the heater is still hot from recent use, wait about 5 minutes for it to cool before relighting.

Why does the main burner on my Orbis Heater keep going out?
    • T
      Tracy RasmussenAug 5, 2025
If the main burner of your Orbis Heater won't stay lit, first check the gas control valve's position relative to the knob frame. Remove the front cover to inspect the gas control rod's movement; a jammed valve may need repair or replacement. Second, a broken thermostat bulb or capillary necessitates replacing the gas control valve. Third, ensure a proper seal at the vent connections at the unit's rear; improperly installed exhaust vents can prevent ignition and may require repair or replacement. Fourth, a blocked flue passageway needs clearing, potentially requiring maintenance. Fifth, a clogged pilot orifice may need maintenance or replacement. Finally, check the thermocouple for proper connection and positioning in the pilot flame; replace if necessary.

    • M
      Mitchell NormanAug 10, 2025
If the main burner on your Orbis Heater won't light, first, ensure the gas control knob isn't set to the "PLT" position. If it is, review the correct lighting procedures. Second, check that the thermostat isn't set too low; adjust it to the "HI" position to check for ignition. Third, if the gas supply piping is too small, contact your gas supplier. Fourth, a defective gas control valve will need replacement.

Why is my Orbis COMFORTVIEW Heater not maintaining the set temperature in the room?
    • D
      danielamandaAug 14, 2025
If your Orbis Heater isn't maintaining the room temperature, first, adjust the thermostat to the "HI" position and then modulate it down to achieve the desired temperature. Second, if the heater is too small for the space, consider the following average room size heating capacities: CCV I up to 200 Sq Ft, CCV II up to 400 Sq Ft, CCV III up to 500 Sq Ft. Obtain a unit appropriate for the area. Third, seal off and insulate the room to minimize air leaks and heat loss. Fourth, a broken or damaged thermostat bulb assembly requires replacing the gas control valve. Finally, if there is insufficient gas supply, contact your gas supplier.

What to do if the pilot light won't light on my Orbis Heater?
    • C
      cbarkerAug 20, 2025
If the pilot of your Orbis Heater won't light, first, ensure the gas is turned on at the manual gas valve or main gas line. Second, a damaged piezo ignitor (electrode) or loose wire lead may need maintenance or replacement. Third, a clogged pilot orifice may need maintenance. Fourth, make sure the gas control knob is set properly by reviewing the correct lighting procedures. Finally, if there's an improper gas supply, contact your gas supplier.

Why does my new Orbis COMFORTVIEW Heater smell or smoke when I turn it on for the first time?
    • M
      Michael FrazierAug 25, 2025
If you notice smoke or a strange smell when you first light up your Orbis Heater after installation, it could be due to grease or oil on the heat exchanger, which should stop after a short period of operation, requiring no action. Alternatively, it could be dust on the heat exchanger, in which case you should apply maintenance procedures.
