Read this manual carefully before you mount or use the remote control.

Introduction / Why RF
This remote control (B) was especially developed for the MVS-RH, MPV-WR and
HRC-BRH units. Radio Frequency (RF) control means that the ventilation device can be
switched remotely and wirelessly by one or several remote controls, up to a maximum
of 20. During renovation in particular, providing wiring is often difcult and expensive,
which makes this wireless switching method ideal. The RF control signal is received
by a receiver printed circuit board (PCB) mounted in the device. The remote control
has 6 buttons for selecting the required position or mode: absent, low, medium, high,
automatic and timer.
The remote control is intended for exclusive use with Orcon ventilation units from the
15 series. If bought separately, the remote control must be connected for the rst time
to the Orcon ventilation unit by the installer.
Mounting 15RF Remote control
The remote control can be opened via the push button (see gures 2 and 3), which
is located on the underside. The wall frame can then either be mounted with the
2 supplied screws and plugs or be stuck in place. Please note: ‘UP’ is marked on the
wall frame, when mounting make sure that this is at the top. Keep enough space free
around the underside so that the push button can be easily reached from below. It is
recommended that the remote control is installed in the living room, kitchen or lavatory
at a height of 1.5 m. Never install the remote control near large metal objects, and keep
the remote control out of the reach of children.
Device start up
When the device is connected to the voltage supply: during start up, the LED on the
receiver PCB in the unit (gure 1) ashes alternately red, green, red. Then the LED on
the receiver PCB turns green for 3 minutes, during which time the device is in learning
mode and can be linked to a remote control or CO
2
sensor.
Pairing remote control(s) to 1 device
Remove the plug of the device from the power point for 30 seconds. Then reinsert the
plug in the power point. The LED on the receiver PCB (gure 1) ashes alternately red
and green, after which the LED remains green. The device will be in learning mode for
3 minutes. During this time, you can pair remote control(s) by pressing the buttons
<1> and <auto> simultaneously until the LED on the remote control ashes alternately
red, green, red. When the remote control has been successfully paired, the LED on the
receiver PCB and remote control will ash green 10 times, and the device will briey
accelerate. The remote control is now ready for use.
Alternative pairing procedure:
Remove the cover from the device. Briey press the push button of the receiver PCB
once (gure 1). The LED on the receiver PCB (gure 3) ashes alternately red and green,
after which the LED remains green. The device remains in learning mode for 3 minutes.
Pairing the remote control is carried out in the same way as described in the pairing
procedure above. Pairing an additional remote control is carried out in the same way as
pairing remote control number 1.
Pairing remote control(s) to several devices
To pair 1 remote control to several devices, the pairing procedure above is repeated
except that buttons <2> and <auto> are simultaneously pressed for 3 seconds to pair
the remote control. To replace a remote control, all the components must be unpaired
on the receiver PCB. Afterwards, all the components must be once again paired.
Timer mode
In the timer mode, the device operates in the high position for the required time, after
which the device returns to the last selected position. Pressing once causes the device
to operate in the high position for 15 minutes, pressing twice 30 minutes, and pressing
three times 60 minutes. The timer can be cancelled by selecting another button.
Auto mode
In auto mode the device operates in accordance with signals from the integrated
moisture sensor and/or the optional 15RF CO
2
sensor.
Absence position
In the absence position the device runs in an extra energy-efcient low position and
does not respond to signals from sensors.
Service and maintenance
Battery replacement
If the LED indication on the remote control ashes orange once, or does not react when
you operate one of the control buttons, the cause is probably a low battery. You do
not need to contact your installer to replace this battery. It is a task you can easily do
yourself. The battery can be ordered from www.orcon.nl. To replace the battery, click in
the push button on the wall frame (gure 3) of the remote control in order to remove
the upper part of the wall frame of the remote control. Remove the old battery from
the remote control. Insert the new battery with the positive side facing you (see gure
4). Replace the protective cover and click the upper side shut on the wall frame with
a hinge movement. In normal use, a new battery has a service life of about 6 years.
Please note: Do not throw batteries away with household waste,
instead take them to a collection point for chemical waste.
Unpairing remote control(s) and sensor(s) on the device
Remove the cover from the device. Press the push button on the receiver PCB in the
device (gure 1) for 15 seconds until the LED is simultaneously red and green (orange).
Release the push button. After release, the LED on the receiver PCB ashes alternately
red, green, red. Any connections with the remote control(s) / CO
2
sensor(s) are now
deleted and the factory settings are loaded. The LED on the receiver PCB remains green
for 3 minutes, during which time the device is in learning mode and can be linked to
a remote control or CO
2
sensor.
Reset remote control
A remote control can be reset by pressing the ‹absent› and ‹timer› buttons simultane-
ously for 3 seconds. The remote control indicates that the reset is complete by ashing
orange twice.
Service
The remote control is extensively tested in the factory. Have you nevertheless encoun-
tered a problem? Then please ask your installer to contact Orcon’s service department.

This document describes the Orcon 15RF Remote Control, a wireless control unit designed for specific Orcon ventilation units (MVS-RH, MPV-WR, and HRC-BRH units from the 15 series). It utilizes Radio Frequency (RF) technology for remote and wireless operation, supporting up to 20 remote controls per ventilation device. This wireless switching method is particularly useful in renovations where wiring can be difficult or expensive.

Function Description

The 15RF Remote Control provides six buttons for selecting various ventilation positions or modes:

• Absent mode: The device operates in an extra energy-efficient low position and does not respond to sensor signals.
• Low position (Position 1): Sets the ventilation to a low speed.
• Medium position (Position 2): Sets the ventilation to a medium speed.
• High position (Position 3): Sets the ventilation to a high speed.
• Timer mode: Allows the device to operate in the high position for a set duration (15, 30, or 60 minutes), after which it returns to the last selected position. This mode can be cancelled by selecting another button.
• Auto mode: The device operates based on signals from an integrated moisture sensor and/or an optional 15RF CO2 sensor.

Orcon BV declares that this remote control conforms with various EU directives, including the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC), EMC Directive (2004/108/EC), RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC), and R&TTE Directive (1999/5/EC).

Usage Features

Mounting: The remote control can be opened via a push button located on its underside. The included wall frame can then be mounted using the two supplied screws and plugs or by sticking it in place. Ensure the "UP" mark on the wall frame is at the top. Sufficient space should be left around the underside for easy access to the push button. It is recommended to install the remote control in the living room, kitchen, or lavatory at a height of 1.5 m. Avoid installing it near large metal objects and keep it out of reach of children.

Device Start-up and Pairing: When the ventilation device is connected to the power supply, its receiver PCB LED will flash alternately red, green, red during start-up. It then turns green for 3 minutes, entering a learning mode during which it can be linked to a remote control or CO2 sensor.

Pairing Remote Control(s) to 1 Device:

1. Disconnect the ventilation device from the power for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
2. The receiver PCB LED will flash alternately red and green, then turn green, indicating a 3-minute learning mode.
3. During this time, simultaneously press buttons <1> and <auto> on the remote control until its LED flashes alternately red, green, red.
4. Upon successful pairing, both the receiver PCB and remote control LEDs will flash green 10 times, and the device will briefly accelerate. The remote control is then ready for use.

Alternative Pairing Procedure:

1. Remove the cover from the device.
2. Briefly press the push button on the receiver PCB once.
3. The receiver PCB LED will flash alternately red and green, then remain green. The device stays in learning mode for 3 minutes.
4. Pairing is then carried out as described above. Additional remote controls are paired in the same way as the first.

Pairing Remote Control(s) to Several Devices: To pair one remote control to multiple devices, repeat the pairing procedure, but simultaneously press buttons <2> and <auto> for 3 seconds. To replace a remote control, all components must first be unpaired from the receiver PCB, then re-paired.

Unpairing Remote Control(s) and Sensor(s) on the Device:

1. Remove the cover from the device.
2. Press the push button on the receiver PCB for 15 seconds until the LED is simultaneously red and green (orange).
3. Release the push button. The receiver PCB LED will then flash alternately red, green, red. All connections with remote controls/CO2 sensors are deleted, and factory settings are loaded. The receiver PCB LED remains green for 3 minutes, entering learning mode for new connections.

Reset Remote Control: A remote control can be reset by simultaneously pressing the <absent> and <timer> buttons for 3 seconds. The remote control will flash orange twice to indicate that the reset is complete.

LED Indications on Remote Control: When a button is pressed, the remote control's LED turns green and then flashes to confirm. Possible indications include:

• Device OK, message followed
• Device OK, timer activated (15, 30, 60 min.)
• RF communication problem
• Understood, but problem in device
• Learning mode is being initiated
• Successful connection with device
• Low battery (flashes orange once)
• Remote control reset carried out (flashes orange twice)

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement: If the remote control's LED flashes orange once or if it doesn't respond to button presses, the battery is likely low. The battery (CR 2032) can be replaced by the user without contacting an installer.

1. Click the push button on the wall frame to remove the upper part of the remote control.
2. Remove the old battery.
3. Insert the new battery with the positive side facing you.
4. Replace the protective cover and click the upper side shut on the wall frame with a hinge movement. A new battery typically has a service life of about 6 years under normal use. Important: Do not dispose of batteries with household waste; take them to a collection point for chemical waste.
