The battery compartment located in the back of the hearing aid also acts
ON and when open, the
unit is OFF. We recommend that you completely open the battery door
when you go to bed at night in order to conserve battery power.
The proper battery size for your Otofonix Elite OTC Hearing Aid is a Zinc
Air #312, available on our website www.otofonix.com. Zinc-air batteries
are activated by air. Before inserting the battery into your device, remove
the plastic tab (sticker) and wait 1 to 2 minutes to allow the battery to
activate itself. Your hearing aid has a low current drain and the battery
should last approximately 7 days (calculated at 16 hours per day). Loud
noises drain the battery more than quieter sounds.
Low Power Warning: You will hear a series of melodic double beeps
when the battery is low. You may also hear increasing static. You will have
approximately 30 minutes to change the battery (this can vary depending
on the hearing settings and battery brand). We recommend that you
always keep one or two spare batteries on hand.
