FXR Power Supply/Control Board
Replacement Instructions
Purpose and Scope
These instructions detail how to replace the FXR inverter power supply/control circuit board.
These instructions extend to FXR2012A, FXR2524A, FXR3048A, VFXR2812A, VFXR3524A,
VFXR3648A, FXR2012E, FXR2024E, FXR2348E, VFXR2612E, VFXR302E, VFXR3048E and other
FXR-class inverters.
Important Safety Instructions
This procedure requires disassembly of the inverter that exposes the circuit board and electronic
components to external elements that are subject to electrostatic discharge. Be sure proper
grounding practices are performed when repairing or replacing electrical devices.
WARNING: Lethal Voltage
Review the system configuration to identify all possible sources of energy. Ensure ALL
sources of power are disconnected before performing any installation or maintenance on
this equipment. Confirm that the terminals are de-energized using a validated voltmeter
(rated for a minimum 1000 Vac and 1000 Vdc) to verify the de-energized condition.
WARNING: Burn Hazard
Internal parts can become hot during operation. Do not remove the cover during
operation or touch any internal parts. Be sure to allow them sufficient time to cool down
before attempting to perform any maintenance.
CAUTION: Equipment Damage
Sensitive electronics inside the equipment can be destroyed by static electricity. Be sure
to discharge any static electricity built up before touching the equipment and wear
appropriate protective gear.
Tools Required

#2 Phillips screwdriver

3/8” flat blade screwdriver

4mm hex wrench

Strap wrench

Long-nose pliers

10mm socket with 12” extension &
torque wrench

10mm wrench (standard and torque)
Parts Included

Power supply/Control circuit board

Power supply (9-volt batteries may be used)

Voltmeter or DVM

FXR Inverter Circuit Board Disassembly

Disconnect Power and Remove External Covers

Disconnect all AC and DC sources, remove DC cover, battery terminals, and AC cover.

Access AC Compartment and Remove Bolts

Remove battery terminal ring nuts, AC compartment screws, and top cover hex bolts.

Disconnect Fan Wire and Remove Top Cover

Remove Gaskets, O-rings, and Ribbon Cables

Remove Control and AC PCBA

FXR Inverter Assembly and Reassembly

Re-attach Ribbon Cables to PCBs

Install Gaskets and O-rings

Testing the Assembled Inverter

Inverter Test Procedure

Final Reassembly and Configuration

Connect Fan Wire and Reinstall Top Cover

Secure Top Cover and Battery Terminals

Reprogram Sealed Inverter Model
