What to do if...
Operating Tips
Make sure the sleeper air temperature is at or below the
desired air temperature before tur ning the unit on. The
main sleeper air conditioner unit may need to be operated
to obtain the desired temperature in the sleeper before
using the unit. In addition, close the sleeper curtain when
using the unit. These tips along with proper ser vice will
maximize the effectiveness of the unit.
Turning on the system requires one of the three conditions
to be true:
Key Switch in the OFF position
OR
Key Switch in the ACC (Accessory) position
OR
Key is removed from ignition switch
The system will not turn on if the key switch is in the “IGN
(ON)’ position or if the engine is running.
Battery Management
The system contains a Battery Monitoring System (BMS).
The system monitors b atter y voltage and will separate
auxiliary battery from the vehicle’s starting batteries when
necessar y. The system will use the following rules to
determine when to use auxiliary or starting batteries:
When the engine is NOT r unning, the star t batteries
and auxiliar y batteries remain connected in parallel
until the star ting batter y voltage drops below 12.5
volts for at least 10 seconds.
OR
When the engine is running and if the starting battery
voltage rises above 13.2 volts for at least 10 seconds,
the start batteries and auxiliary batteries will be auto-
matically connected to allow the alternator to charge
the auxiliary batteries.
The BMS also uses charge and discharge cycles to deter-
mine the state of health of the auxiliar y batter ies and
repor ts the state of health of the batteries to the control
panel (% of initial full life remaining).
The system will automatically shut off if the voltage of the
auxiliary batteries drops below 11.3 volts.
