Zoom types and use
The zoom ratio changes when the picture size is changed.
Optical Zoom
Recording mode:
You can zoom in without degrading the picture quality.
Maximum magnification: 60x
This function is not available in the following case:
When recording with [Macro Zoom]
Extra optical zoom/Extended optical zoom
Recording mode:
This function works when picture sizes with [ ] have been selected in [Picture Size]
(→175). Extra optical zoom/Extended optical zoom allows you to zoom in using a higher
zoom ratio than Optical Zoom, without degrading the picture quality. The maximum zoom
ratio varies depending on the picture size.
Maximum magnification: 122x
This function is not available in the following cases:
[Handheld Night Shot] (Scene Guide Mode)
[Toy Effect], [Toy Pop] (Creative Control Mode)
When recording 4K photos
When recording using [Post Focus]
When [HDR] is set to [ON]
When [Multi Exp.] is set
When [iHandheld Night Shot] is set to [ON]
When [iHDR] is set to [ON]
When [Quality] is set to [
], [ ] or [ ]
When recording with [Macro Zoom]
During motion picture recording
