The camera automatically sets the shutter speed and the aperture value according to the
brightness of the subject.
You can take pictures with greater freedom by changing various settings in [REC] Mode
menu.
Set the drive mode to [ ] by pressing 4().
Set [REC] Mode to [ ].
For details on setting up [REC] Mode, refer to P30.
Note
To change the setting while taking pictures, refer to Using the [REC] Mode Menu (P129) or
Using the [CUSTOM] Menu (P142).
The shutter speed is automatically set between about 30 seconds and 1/4000th of a second in
the following cases.
When the [SENSITIVITY] is set to [ISO100].
When the aperture value is set to F2.5 [when the interchangeable lens (H-H014) is attached].
When the aperture value is set to F3.5 [when the interchangeable lens (H-FS014042) is
attached].
Taking Pictures with Your Favourite Settings (Programme AE Mode)
Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
A Aperture value
B Shutter speed
Aperture value and shutter speed are displayed. (It
will flash in red if the correct exposure is not achieved,
except when set to flash.)
You will not be able to take a picture until the
focus is set, since the [FOCUS PRIORITY] (P144)
is set initially to [ON].
Press the shutter button fully (push it in
further), and take the picture.
The access indication lights (P25) red when pictures
are being recorded on the card.
