D All connections are made,
n TV and VCR are plugged in.
D TV is turned on and tuned to CH3, 4 or Video.
□ Remote is in VCR mode.
Multi Function Display STOP/EJECT

Insert a cassette.
• VCR power comes on and “VCR"
appears on Multi Function Display.
Press PLAY.
• Or, if cassette has no record tab
(see page 30), auto playback begins.
• These features work best in SP or SLP
mode.
• The sound will be muted.
■ To Find a Particular Scene
Forward Search --> Press FF. (To release, press PLAY
orFF.)
Reverse Search --> Press REW. (To release, press PLAY
orREW.)
■ For Still (Freeze) picture -> Press PAUSE/SLOW.
(To release, press PLAY.)
■ For Frame by Frame picture --> Press PAUSE/SLOW in
Still mode.
(To release, press PLAY.)
■ For Slow Motion --> Press and hold PAUSE/SLOW in Still
mode. (To release, press PLAY.)
• To reduce picture noise, see “Manual Tracking Control” on
page 31.
• After the VCR is in Still or Slow mode for 3 minutes, it will
switch to Stop mode automatically to protect the tape and
the video head.
■ To Stop -> Press STOP.
■ To rewind tape --> Press REW in Stop mode.
■ To fast forward tape -> Press FF in Stop mode.
■ To eject tape --> Press EJECT on the remote or
STOP/ EJECT on the VCR.
• To prevent tape jam
Inspect your cassette tapes and
remove any loose or peeling labels.
Playback using VCR controls
11nsert a cassette.
I 2 Press PLAY.
I Press to stop and/ or eject tape.
