For the fastening device, the
vibration characteristic value is
determined in accordance with
ISO 8662-11:1999 – Handheld
motor-driven machines – Meas-
uring mechanical vibrations on
the handle – Fastening devices
(see Technical specifications).
The value is a device-related
characteristic value and does
not represent the effect of the
hand-arm system when using
the device. The impact on the
hand-arm system when using the
device depends, for example,
on the gripping force, contact
pressure, direction of operation,
the air pressure which has been
set, the workpiece, the workpiece
support.

The DIN EN ISO 11148-13:2018
standard “Handheld non-
electrically operated machines–
Safety requirements – Part 13:
Fastening devices” applies to
fastening devices. This standard
states that
you must only work with
those fasteners as listed in
the corresponding operating
instructions for the fastening
devices (see Technical specifi-
cations). The fastening device
and the fasteners indicated in
the operating instructions are
regarded as a safety system;
Quick couplings are used for
connection to the compressed
air supply and the non-clos-
able nipple must be fitted to
the device so that when it
is disconnected, there is no
compressed air in the device.
Oxygen or combustible gases
must not be used as a source
of energy for fastening devices
powered by compressed air;
Fastening devices must only
be connected to lines, where
the maximum permitted pres-
sure of the device cannot be
exceeded by more than 10%;
with higher pressures, a pres-
sure regulating valve (pressure
reducer) with downstream
pressure relief valve must be
