X-Frame 88 (Slave)
The second X-Frame 88 is used in the recording booth to make cassette tapes of the sermon. These tapes are typically used by
the church for archiving, and are made available to the congregation after the service, and later in the church library.
The eight speech microphone signals from the primary X-Frame 88 are recieved at the second X-Frame 88 in the recording
booth at Expansion Port A. These signals appear in the second view file at the Link A Inputs block. Additional analog inputs
for narraration and music beds are mixed with the eight speech mics for recording. After stereo processing, they are sent to
four stereo cassette decks for dubbing. A second stereo mix is returned to the primary X-Frame 88 as an 8-bus mix where they
are mixed and processed again for output to the Hearing Impaired System and other speech-only feeds.
Note the link status of each X-Frame 88 in this system regarding sync. The primary processor is the master in this configura-
tion and therefore its “Link A External Sync” option is disabled. The secondary X-Frame 88 above is the slave and will need a
sync signal from the primary unit. Therefore, its “Link A External Sync” option is ON, allowing it to sync to the other unit.
Also notice that the secondary X-Frame 88 still has an open Expansion Port. This port could be used to connect another X-
Frame 88 slave or an MM-8802 for more I/O. If a third X-Frame 88 was integrated into this sytem, a third view file would be
required with the same Link I/O and routing to get the audio between units.
