Depth
of
field
is
the area of acceptable
sharpness
in front
of and behind the
point
of
focus. The
depth
of
field
becomes
progressively
greater
as the
lens
opening
becomes smaller.
The distance
at
which
the
lens
is
focused
also
affects
the
depth
of
field: it increases
as
you
get
f
urther
away.
The
focal length
of the
lens is
a
nother
f
actor to determ
ine
the depth of
f ield.
The
shorter
the lens,
the
greater
the depth of
f ield.

check
the
depth
of
f ield
on
your
camera,
you
can use the depth-of-f ield
scale
in f ront
of the
aperture
ring
on the
lens. First
focus
the
camera,
then
move
the aperture
ring
to the
shooting
aperture.
Now
check the
f-numbers
on
the scale
in front
of the aperture
ring.
Notice
the
alignment in relation
to the distance markings
on the
focusing-ring
scale.
Your
depth
of

is
between
the
distances
aligned with the
proper
