7. Adjustment of top feed foot in sewing direction
Requirement:
The front edge of the top feed foot must be between the first and second tooth point of the center tooth
row of the feed dog (fig. 22).
Check:
● Raise the presser bar lifter.
● Remove the complete presser foot.
● Set the stitch length to "6".
● Engage the top feed foot.
● Turn the handwheel until the rising feed dog is flush with the needle plate surface.
● Lower the presser bar lifter.
● Carry out a visual check.
Adjustment:
● Loosen screw 39 (fig. 23).
● Raise the presser bar lifter until the top feed foot is just resting on top of the feed dog.
● At the same time push the top feed dog to the front or to the rear until its front edge is between the first
and second tooth point of the center tooth row.
● Lower the presser bar lifter.
● Tighten screw 39, making sure that driving shaft 38 has no play.
