Overview

This document describes the Philips E Line 275E2 monitor, a flat panel display designed for various uses, including gaming, office work, and multimedia consumption.

Function Description

The Philips 275E2 is an LCD monitor that provides visual output from a connected computer or other video source. It features an On-Screen Display (OSD) for adjusting screen performance and selecting various functions. Key functionalities include:

  • Image Optimization: The monitor incorporates Philips' SmartImage and SmartContrast technologies. SmartImage offers presets (FPS, Racing, RTS, Gamer 1, Gamer 2, LowBlue Mode, EasyRead, Off) that dynamically adjust brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness based on content type. SmartContrast dynamically analyzes displayed content to optimize the contrast ratio, enhancing visual clarity for different scenarios like gaming, video, or text.
  • AMD FreeSync™: This technology synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with the GPU's frame rate, eliminating screen tearing and stuttering for a smoother gaming experience. It's compatible with specific AMD Radeon R9 290/300 Series & R7 260 Series graphic cards and A-Series Desktop and Mobility APUs.
  • LowBlue Mode: Designed for eye comfort, this mode uses smart software to reduce harmful shortwave blue light, which can cause eye strain and damage over time.
  • EasyRead Mode: This mode optimizes the display for text-based applications like PDF e-books by increasing contrast and boundary sharpness, adjusting brightness, contrast, and color temperature for stress-free reading.
  • Power Management: The monitor supports VESA DPM compliance, automatically reducing power consumption when not in use and waking up when input is detected.

The power plug and outlet should be easily accessible. Only approved power cords should be used. The AC adapter should not be disassembled. Cables should be protected from damage. The monitor should not be subjected to severe vibration or high impact. To prevent panel damage, it should not be tilted downward by more than -5 degrees.
  • Cleaning: For normal cleaning, a clean, soft cloth is recommended. For extensive cleaning, isopropyl alcohol can be used. Organic solvents like ethyl alcohol, ethanol, acetone, or hexane should be avoided.
  • Burn-in/Ghost Image Prevention: To prevent "burn-in" or "ghost imaging" from static images, users should always activate a moving screen saver program when leaving the monitor unattended and activate a periodic screen refresh application if displaying unchanging static content. Failure to do so may result in permanent damage not covered under warranty.
  • Service: The casing cover should only be opened by qualified service personnel. For repair or integration documents, users should contact their local service center.
  • Pixel Defect Policy: Philips has a pixel defect policy that defines acceptable levels of bright and dark dot defects. Monitors exceeding these tolerances qualify for repair or replacement under warranty. The policy also considers the proximity of pixel defects.
  • Warranty: Information on warranty coverage and extended warranty options can be found on the Philips support website or by contacting the local Philips Customer Care Center. Extended warranty packages are available through Certified Service Centers and must be purchased within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date.
