Temporal temperature
reading is unusually low.
Causes include debris on the
lens, scanning too fast,
releasing the Scan key before
the reading completes, and
diaphoresis.
Familiarize yourself with the
proper technique for using the
temporal thermometer.

The temporal thermometer
display is blank.
The thermometer cable is not
connected.
Verify that the thermometer cable
is connected to the temperature
input connector on the monitor.
If the problem persists, contact
your system administrator.

is connected.
Verify that the correct
thermometer cable is connected
to the temperature input
connector on the monitor.
If the problem persists, contact
your system administrator.

Measurement Problems
SpO
2
measurements are not
displayed.
The SpO
2
module is
calculating the SpO
2
value.
Wait until the module completes
the calculation.
The SpO
2
sensor has
malfunctioned.
Replace the SpO
2
sensor.
SpO
2
readings are
questionable.
An external problem occurred. Ensure that all external SpO
2
reading requirements are met and
that the patient is not moving
excessively.

Measurement Problems

module is initializing Wait until the initialization is
complete. It may take 10 seconds
and may trigger a low etCO

alarm message. Acknowledge the
alarm and continue to wait for
initialization.
The CO
2
sampling tube is bent
or twisted.
Straighten the sampling tube.
