THE
PERMANENT
MEMORY
OF
THE
CD
PLAYER
WARNING:
This
action
will
erase
the
whole
permanent
memory
of
the
CD
player
for
the
Favourite
Track
Selection
(FTS),
disc
titles
and
Desired
Equalizer
Settings
(DES).
All
the
stored
informa¬
tion
of
ail
CDs
will
be
erased.
Press
TITLES
8
once
to
enter
the
title
programming
mode
or
twice
to
enter
the
DES
programming
mode.
Press
REPEAT
5
and
CLEAR
11
simultaneously
to
erase
the
permanent
memory
of
the
CD
player.
The
display
shows
the
message
DISC
INFO
CLEARED.
The
edit
function
automatically
creates
a
selection
of
tracks
adjusted
to
the
maximum
playing
time
of
a
cassette
for
mak¬
ing
a
recording.
You
define
the
recording
time
of
the
tape.
The
function
has
three
modes:
ADVANCED
EDIT,
OPTIMAL
EDIT
and
COMPILE
EDIT.
Advanced
edit
-
T
he
CD
player
will
determine
the
number
of
consecutive
tracks
that
fit
on
one
side
of
the
tape.
The
remain¬
ing
tracks
can
be
recorded
on
the
other
side
of
the
cassette.
Optimal
edit
-
T
he
CD
player
calculates
the
optimal
combina¬
tion
of
tracks
to
fill
one
side
of
the
tape
as
well
as
possible.
The
remaining
tracks
can
be
recorded
on
the
other
side
of
the
cassette.
Compile
edit
-
Same
as
optimal
edit,
except
that
at
the
end
of
the
recording,
the
tray
will
be
opened
so
you
can
insert
anoth¬
er
CD
to
fill
the
remaining
recording
time.
NOTE!
The
EDIT
function
cannot
be
used
for
CDs
containing
more
than
29
tracks.

recording

the
EDIT
function

Prepare
deck
B
of
the
cassette
deck
for
recording
(insert
a
cassette,
select
play
mode
and
switch
on
the
Dolby
system
if
desired).
Press
EDIT
7
in
the
stop
mode
to
enter
the
edit
mode.
The
display
shows
the
message
SELECT
EDIT
MODE,
fol¬
lowed
by
ADVANCED
and
EDIT
lights
up.
Press

NEXT/PREVIOUS
on
the
remote
control
until
the
desired
edit
mode
appears
on
the
display
(ADVANCED,
OPTIMAL,
COMPILE
or
EXIT).
Press
EDIT

to
confirm
the
selected
edit
mode

to
select
exit.
Exit
will
leave
the
edit
mode.
The
display
shows
the
message
SELECT
TAPE
LENGTH.
Press
M4
or
1
or
NEXT/PREVIOUS
until
the
desired
tape
length
appears
on
the
display
(C60,
C90,
Cl
00,
Cl
20,
C30
or
C46).
Press
EDIT
7
to
confirm
the
selected
tape
length.
You
are
now
able
to
create
a
new
program
or
to
change
an
existing
program.
If
you
do
not
store
a
program
ail
tracks
of
the
CD
will
be
used
for
the
edit
function.
Press
CD
SYNCHRO
(on
the
cassette
deck)
or
PLAY/PAUSE

to
start
the
desired
edit
mode.
It
is
recommended
to
start
the
desired
edit
mode
with
CD
SYNCHRO
in
combination
with
play
mode
CT.
At
the
end
of
the
selection
of
tracks
for
the
first
side
of
the
cassette,
the
CD
player
waits
until
the
end
of
the
tape
is
reached.
After
changing
the
tape
travel
direction
the
recording
continues
automatically.
Press
STOP

or
OPEN/CLOSE

to
interrupt
edit
play.
The
message
EDIT
CANCELLED
appears
on
the
display.
Notes:
-
When
the
edit
mode
is
selected,
all
other
function
are
dis¬
abled
except
TIME,
REVIEW,
OPEN/CLOSE
and
STOP
-
The
message
EDIT
ACTIVE
appears
on
the
display
when
a
wrong
key
is
pressed
in
the
edit
mode.
-
If
the
CD
player
cannot
calculate
a
program
the
message
EDIT
FAILED
appears
on
the
display.
-
Should
the
CD
or
the
program
be
longer
than
the
total
recording
time
of
the
tape,
play
will
stop
after
the
last
track
that
fits
onto
side
B
of
the
tape.
-
A
pause
of
5
seconds
is
automatically
created
in
between
the
tracks
for
Automatic
Music
Search
(AMS).
