Cleaning the brewing unit
The brewing unit must be cleaned regularly to avoid the build-up of caked
coffee residues, which could cause the appliance to malfunction.
1 Switch off the appliance but leave the plug in the wall socket. Wait
until the display goes out.
2 Open the service door.
3 Remove the drip tray and the waste bin and clean them.
4 Press the two red release buttons on the brewing unit towards each
other and pull the brewing unit out of the appliance.
Note: The brewing unit can only be removed if the appliance is switched off.
Attempting to remove the brewing unit while the appliance is switched on may
cause serious damage.
5 Clean the brewing unit under a hot tap. Do not use any cleaning
agents.
Never clean the brewing unit in the dishwasher.
6 Carefully clean the inside of the appliance.
Scrape away coffee residues caked to parts inside the appliance with a
plastic or wooden fork. Then suck up all the residues with a vacuum cleaner.
