How to set up
your Debrillator.
You must activate your
Defibrillator.
To do this, you will need to remove
the green tag to start AED self-test.
Listen for the “Beep!”
Maintaining your Defibrillator
is important.
Please refer to the HeartStart
Quick Setup Guide booklet for
further information.
When instructed, press Shock
button firmly.
Install the Defibrillator in a
location that is clearly visible,
accessible and secure.
Wait one minute, and listen for
the voice prompt “Ready for use”.
Always store your Defibrillator
in its protective case.
For best visibility of Defibrillator
location, install directional/AED
signage throughout your area.
Register your Defibrillator, it is easy
and only takes a few minutes.
Visit ambulance.vic.gov.au/register,
or call 1800 AED REG (233 734)
during business hours.
When your Defibrillator is registered, information
about its location is made available through
Ambulance Victoria’s online AED registry. This
means more people will be aware of where it’s
located, in case of an emergency nearby.
Look at the top right hand corner
for the blinking green ready light.
This indicates a self-test has passed
and your Defibrillator is now active and
ready to respond in an emergency.
