This
recorder
can
be
used
with
ferro,
chromium
and
ferro-chrome
cassettes.
To
improve
the
sig-
nal-to-noise
ratio
the
recorder
is
provided
with
two
noise
suppression
systems,
the
dynamic
noise
limiter
DNL
and
the
Dolby*
system.

The
recording
of
radio
programmes
and
copying
of

records
is

only
insofar
as
copyright
or
other
rights
of

parties
are
not
thereby
infringed.
Compact
Cassettes
@
With
Compact
Cassettes
you
can
make
stereo
and
mono
recordings
on
the
two
sides
of
the
cassette,
each
recording
occupying
half
the
width
of
the
tape.
When
one
side
of
the
cassette
is
full,
you
can
turn
it
over
and
use
the
other
side.
@
Both
ends
of
the
tape
are
attached
by
a
length
of
non-magnetic
leader
tape
to
the
reel
cores.
At
any
time
-
that
is,
not
only
at
the
end
of
the
tape
-
the
cassette
can
either
be
turned
over
and
the
other
side
used,
or
it
can
be
replaced.
N.B.
Because
of
the
length
of
the
leader
tape
it
is
necessary
when
starting
at
the
very
beginning
of
the
tape
to
allow
the
cassette
to
wind
on
for
about
seven
seconds
before
starting
to
record.
@
You
can
prevent
the
accidental
erasure
of
valuable
recordings
as
follows.
Having
made
the
recording,
take
a
screwdriver
or
similar
object
and
break
out
the
little
flap
(arrow
A
in
Fig.
4)
at
the
back
of
the
cassette
near
the
empty
reel.
With
the
cassette
in
the
recorder
at
any
time
thereafter,
the
record
key
cannot
be
de-
pressed.
You
can
render
this
safeguard
ineffective
by
covering
the
aperture
now
existing
with
a
piece
of
adhesive
tape.
@
On
the
inner
side
of
the
label
in
the
box
you
can
note
the
title
of
each
recording
and
the
counter
reading
at
which
it
commences.
When
the
label
is
folded
the
other
way
round,
the
notes
you
have
made
can
be
read
through
the
lid.
@
Protect
your
cassettes
against
dust
by
returning
each
to
its
box
immediately
after
use.
Store
the
cassettes
at
room
temperature,
away
from
the
sun
and
out
of
reach
of
magnetic
fields
generated
by
the
recorder,
radios,
television
sets,
loudspeaker
enclosures
etc.
@
When
using
ferro
cassettes,
in
which
the
tape
has
a
layer
of
ferric
oxide,
tape
selector
@
must
be
in
position
‘ferro’
or
‘auto’.
@
When
using
chromium
cassettes,
in
which
the
tape
has
a
layer
of
chromium
dioxide,
there
are
two
possibilities:
8
-
If
the
chromium
cassette
incorporates
two
extra
apertures
on
the
back
(Fig.
4,
arrowB),
tape
selector
@)
may
be
in
position
‘auto’
or
‘chromium’.
-
For
chromium
cassettes
not
having
these
aper-
tures,
tape
selector
@)
must
be
set
to
‘chromium’.
@
When
using
ferro-chrome
cassettes,
made
from
a
mixture
of
ferric
oxide
and
chromium
dioxide,
tape
selector
@)
must
be
set
to
ferro-chrome’.
