Why does my Philips PerfectCare Compact Plus GC7929 not produce steam?
    • S
      Stacey FrazierAug 10, 2025
Your Philips Iron might not be producing steam because the water tank is empty. Refill the tank and press and hold the steam trigger until steam appears, which may take up to 30 seconds. Alternatively, you may not be pressing the steam trigger or the steam function may be disabled until you perform the Calc-Clean process. Also, ensure the steam trigger is pressed long enough at the beginning of your ironing session.

What to do if water droplets come out of the Philips PerfectCare Compact Plus GC7929 Iron soleplate?

      Kelly MartinAug 17, 2025
If water droplets are coming out of the soleplate of your Philips Iron, it could be due to several reasons. After performing the Calc-Clean process, remaining water may drip out; wipe the soleplate dry with a cloth. If you've used the steam boost function too frequently, limit its use to stubborn creases (no more than 5 times within 3 minutes). Steam may condense into water in the hose if you are using steam for the first time or haven't used it for a while; hold the iron away from the garment and press the steam trigger until only steam comes out. It may also indicate that the Calc-Clean process has not been completed.

If water flushes out of the soleplate of your Philips Iron, you may have accidentally started the Calc-Clean process. To resolve this, switch off the appliance, then switch it back on again. Allow the iron to heat up until the ‘iron ready’ light illuminates steadily.

If dirty water and impurities come out of the soleplate of your Philips Iron, it means that impurities or chemicals present in the water have deposited in the steam vents and/or soleplate. Perform the Calc-Clean process regularly to resolve this.

If no steam is coming out of your Philips Iron, the CALC-CLEAN light is flashing, and the appliance is beeping, it indicates that you have not performed or completed the Calc-Clean process. Perform the Calc-Clean process to enable the steam function again.
