Usage Features:
- First-Time Use Preparation: Before first use, all packaging should be removed, and parts washed. The freezer bowl must be placed in a freezer for 8-12 hours to ensure it is thoroughly chilled. The ice cream or sorbet mix should be prepared in advance and allowed to cool in the refrigerator.
- Assembly: The power unit fits into the lid, clicking into place. The paddle is then fitted into the power unit. Once the freezer bowl is removed from the freezer, the assembled lid/power unit/paddle is lowered onto the freezer bowl and turned clockwise to lock into position.
- Operation: The machine must be switched on before adding the ice cream or sorbet mixture to prevent immediate freezing on the inside of the bowl. The mixture is poured into the freezer bowl through the chute, ensuring to stop at least 4 cm (1.575 inches) from the top, as the mixture will increase in volume during freezing. The machine then churns until the desired consistency is reached, which typically takes 15 to 30 minutes.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always unplug the machine before fitting, removing, or cleaning parts.
- Children should not use the machine unsupervised.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord, plug, or if the appliance malfunctions or is damaged.
- Do not immerse the cord, plug, or unit in water or other liquids.
- Avoid contact with moving parts; keep hands, hair, clothing, spatulas, and other utensils away during operation.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Never leave the machine unattended.
- Only use for intended domestic use.
- Ensure all parts are thoroughly clean before making ice cream or sorbet.
- Never refreeze ice cream that has been fully or partially defrosted.
- Consume raw ingredient-containing ice cream/sorbet within one week.
- Exercise caution with raw or partially cooked eggs, especially for vulnerable groups.
- Protect hands from freezer burn when handling the cold bowl.
- Discontinue use if the non-toxic freezing solution leaks from the bowl.
- Do not place the machine on hot surfaces.
- Switch off and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching moving parts.
- The appliance is not intended for use by children or the infirm without adequate supervision.
- Important Operational Notes:
- Do not stop and start the machine during freezing, as the mixture may freeze and prevent paddle movement.
- If the mixture becomes too thick, the motor's direction of rotation may change to avoid overheating. If this continues, stop the machine.
- A safety cut-out will operate if the motor overheats; switch off, unplug, and allow the power unit to cool.
- The resulting ice cream is typically soft-spoonable and can be transferred to a separate container for storage or firmed up in the freezer.
- Do not use metal utensils to remove mix from the bowl.
- Do not remove the freezer bowl from the freezer until ready to make ice cream.
