This supplement supplies information necessary for the operation of the
airplane when the optional Piper Electric Pitch Trim
is
installed. The
information contained within this supplement
is
to be used in conjunction
with the complete handbook.

EMERGENCY
PROCEDURES
(a) In case
of
malfunction, disconnect electric pitch trim by activating
pitch trim switch on instrument panel to
OFF
position.
(b) In
an
emergency, electric pitch trim may be overpowered using
manual pitch trim. .
(c) In cruise configuration, malfunction results in
10°
pitch change
and
200
ft
altitude variation.
(d) In approach configuration, a malfunction can result
in
a 5° pitch
change and
50
ft altitude loss.

NORMAL
PROCEDURES
The electric trim system may be turned ON and
OFF
by a switch located
above the ignition
switch: The pitch trim may be changed when
tQe
electric
trim
system
is
turned
on
either
by
moving the manual pitch trim control
wheel
or
by operating the trim control switch on the pilot's control yoke.
