The Playlearn Bubble Tube is a sensory device designed to provide a calming and engaging visual experience through its illuminated, bubbling water column. It is intended for both recreational and therapeutic use, offering a dynamic display of light, color, and movement.
Function Description:
The Bubble Tube operates by circulating air through water, creating a continuous stream of bubbles that rise through the tube. Integrated LED lights illuminate the water and bubbles, allowing for a vibrant and customizable visual display. The device is controlled via a remote control or a dedicated smartphone app, enabling users to adjust colors, light patterns, and brightness. The inclusion of fish and balls within the tube adds an extra layer of visual interest as they float and move with the bubbles.
Important Technical Specifications:
The device consists of several key components:
- Lid (1): Covers the top of the tube.
- Tube (2): The main transparent column filled with water and containing the bubbling mechanism and lights.
- Base (3): A silver-colored base that houses the internal components and provides stability.
- Air Pump (4): Attached to the tube, responsible for generating bubbles.
- Controller Box (5): Attached to the tube, manages the lighting and pump functions.
- Adapter (6): For powering the unit.
- Remote (7): Wireless control for various functions.
- Maintenance Hose (8): Includes a manual pump and water pipe for emptying and changing water.
Usage Features:
- Setup: The setup process involves inspecting the tube and base for damage, connecting the air pump and controller box, feeding the adapter through the base, and plugging it into the controller box. The tube is then placed in its desired location, filled with water (distilled water is recommended for less maintenance), and tested with the remote. Fish and balls are washed and added to the tube, and the silver cap is placed on top. It's noted that fish may take up to 24 hours to fully swim.
- Remote Control Functions:
- Power: Turns the product on and off.
- Play/Pause: Turns the light on and off.
- Brightness: Adjusts the brightness of the light.
- Colors: Changes the light to a specific button color.
- Auto: Light gradually changes between all colors.
- Jump 3/Jump 7: Light jumps between red, green, and blue (3 colors) or between all 7 colors.
- Fade 3/Fade 7: Light fades between red, green, and blue (3 colors) or between all 7 colors.
- Flash: Light flashes on and off.
- Speed +/-: Increases/decreases the speed of light changes.
- Smartphone App Control: The device can also be controlled via a dedicated "Playlearn" app available on smartphone app stores. Users need to ensure Bluetooth is enabled, download and open the app, navigate to "my devices," and select the Bubble Tube from the dropdown list. The Bubble Tube must be turned "on" to establish a connection.
- Two-Person Setup/Maintenance: Due to the delicate nature and potential weight of the Bubble Tube, it is recommended that two people assist with setup and any maintenance requiring water emptying.
Maintenance Features:
- Water Type: While tap water can be used, distilled water is highly recommended to reduce algae growth and water cloudiness, thereby extending the time between water changes. With tap water, water changes are needed approximately every few months.
- Water Emptying: A maintenance hose with a manual pump and water pipe is provided to facilitate emptying and changing the water. The pipe is attached to the pump nozzle, and the other end is placed deep into the tube. Pumping initiates water flow into a bucket placed at a lower point.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the power before cleaning or handling. Disconnect and drain the water if storing for an extended period.
- Troubleshooting:
- Cracked Panel: Contact customer support immediately.
- No Bubbles/Lights: Check setup instructions and connections. If the pump isn't making noise, contact support.
- Some Jets Working/Some Not: Adjust the small dials under each air jet at the bottom of the tube. Loosen dials under non-working jets and tighten those under working jets for a few hours to force pressure into the non-working jets, then readjust all dials to an even setting.
- Remote Control Not Functioning: Move closer to the base, check/change the battery. If issues persist, contact support for a replacement.
- No Power: Check if the adapter is warm. If cold, contact support for a new adapter. If warm, check the connection into the controller box and ensure white wires are firmly connected.
- Cautions: Do not operate with hot or ice-cold water. Do not lift, carry, or pull the Bubble Tube by the power cord. Do not exceed the maximum voltage and wattage on the adapter.
- Warranty: Playlearn offers a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in materials and workmanship. A valid proof of purchase is required, and photos of defective merchandise may be requested. The warranty does not cover damage from inadequate care, immersion in water, improper installation, storage, or maintenance. Water damage due to freezing temperatures, "hard water," or caustic cleaners is not covered, nor are additional charges, shipping costs, or consequential damages.
