Stands
Studio Use: The DB1S loudspeaker can be mounted
on the meter bridge of mixing consoles with the
approriatte shelf or on PMC’s dedicated stands
behind the console - for further details consult your
dealer.
Home Use: At home we would recommend a stand
of between 20 and 24 inches. A number of excellent
stands are available at these heights so please
consult your dealer on which will best suit your
requirements and budget.
Loudspeaker Placement
All loudspeakers are influenced by the acoustic of
the room in which they are placed. The positive and
negative effects of your room can be manipulated
to some extent by careful positioning.
Proximity to room boundaries (floors and walls) raises
the low frequency energy at the expense of
unevenness in the response. In the extreme, placing
a loudspeaker low, near the floor and in a corner
will produce an extremely bass heavy and boomy
response, often making the bass slow and ill defined.
Experimentation with placement cannot be
overstated.
Running In
All new loudspeakers require a period of running in.
This allows for the settling of materials used in the
drive units. The DB1 is no exception to this rule, best
results will be achieved from newly supplied
monitors after a period of between 10 and 20 hours
running in.
Care of your Monitors
There are no user serviceable parts within the DB1
monitors. The cabinets should be cleaned with a
damp cloth. Take care when using wax or spray
polishes.
Service
In the unlikely event of a technical problem arising
please contact the dealer from whom the monitors
were purchased and describe the symptoms of the
fault to them. They may be able to suggest a
solution to your problem immediately.
If you wish to return your monitors to us please use
the original packing. No responsibility will be held for
damage to the monitors if they are packed
incorrectly. If you no longer have your packing a
replacement set may be obtained either directly
from ourselves or via your dealer.
Please enclose a note detailing the symptoms of the
problem and your name address and telephone
number when making any returns to us. Remember
if you have a problem always consult your dealer
first.
WARRANTY
THE PROFESSIONAL MONITOR COMPANY'S DB1 & DB1S MONITOR LOUDSPEAKERS ARE
GUARANTEED AGAINST ANY DEFECT IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF
FIVE YEARS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. WITHIN THIS PERIOD, THE SUPPLY OF
REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL BE FREE OF CHARGE PROVIDED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT
DUE TO MISUSE, ACCIDENT OR NEGLIGENCE.
THIS WARRANTY IS APPLICABLE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM ONLY. ENQUIRIES IN COUNTRIES
OTHER THAN THE UK SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE LOCAL PMC AGENT OR DISTRIBUTOR
