      Your Polaris Boat engine may overheat due to: * A clogged jet pump intake: Clean the intake. * Use of non-recommended fuel or oil: Replace with recommended fluids. * Sand or debris in the cooling system: Flush the cooling system. * A plugged thermostat assembly: Disassemble and clean the thermostat. * A plugged cooling system: Inspect and clean the cooling system. * A clogged exhaust pipe screen fitting: Clean the screen fitting.

      If your Polaris Boat engine doesn’t turn over, there are several potential causes: * A tripped circuit breaker: Reset the breaker. * Low battery voltage: Recharge the battery to 12.5 VDC. * Loose battery connections: Check all connections and tighten them. * Security lock or MFI code is activated: Unlock/deactivate it. * Loose solenoid connections: Check all connections and tighten them. * Lanyard lock plate not in place: Install the lock plate under the shut-off switch. * Hydrolock: See your Polaris dealer.

      If your Polaris Boat engine turns over but doesn’t start, consider these possibilities: * Out of fuel: Refuel the boat. * Water in fuel (carb models): Drain the fuel/water separator. * Fuel valve is turned off (carb models): Turn the fuel valve on. * Old or non-recommended fuel: Replace it with new fuel. * Fouled or defective spark plugs: Inspect the plugs and replace if necessary. * Overuse of choke: Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs. * Clogged fuel filter: Replace the filter. * Low battery voltage: Recharge the battery to 12.5 VDC. * Crankcase filled with water or fuel or mechanical failure: See your Polaris dealer.
