  If your Polaris Boat engine doesn't turn over, start by checking the fuse and replacing it if it's blown. Also, ensure the battery voltage is at 12.5 VDC by recharging it if necessary. Inspect all battery connections and tighten any that are loose, including the ground connection. Make sure the lanyard lock plate is correctly installed under the shut-off switch. For hydrolock issues (water in the engine) or loose starter relay connections, it's best to check all connections and tighten them.

  If your Polaris Boat engine runs irregularly, stalls, or misfires, start by inspecting, cleaning, and/or replacing the spark plugs if they are fouled or defective. Check and tighten any loose spark plug connections. If there's water in the fuel, replace it with new fuel. Clean the exhaust pipe screen fitting if it's clogged, and drain the exhaust pipe if there's water in it. Ensure the battery voltage is at 12.5 VDC by recharging if necessary. If the fuel is low, contaminated, or of low octane, add or change the fuel, clean the fuel system, and replace with recommended fuel. If the fuel has very high octane, replace it with lower octane recommended fuel.

Replace the fuel with the recommended type if the current fuel or fuel mixture is incorrect. If there's water in the fuel or oil tank, replace it with the recommended fluids. Clean the intake if the jet pump intake is clogged, and clean the exhaust and flush the cooling system if they are clogged. Reduce the load if there is too much weight on the craft.

  If your Polaris Boat engine overheats, the first step is to clean the intake if it's clogged. If you're using non-recommended fuel or oil, replace them with the recommended fluids. Flush the cooling system if there's sand or debris in it. Disassemble and clean the thermostat if the thermostat assembly is plugged. Inspect and clean the cooling system if it's plugged. Also, clean the exhaust pipe screen fitting if it's clogged.
