WARRANTY
U.S. FEDERAL EMISSIONS LIMITED WARRANTY
Polaris warrants to the ultimate purchaser and each subsequent pur-
chaser thatthis newmarine spark ignition engineis designed, built, and
equippedsoastoconform atthetimeofsalewith applicableregulations
undersection213oftheCleanAirAct. Polariswarrantsthattheengine
is free from defects in materials and workmanship that would cause the
engine to fail to conform with applicable emission regulations during
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emission warranty period.
The federal emission limited warranty period starts on the date the en-
gineispurchased. Theemission-relatedcomponentsofthismodelyear
2004 and later marine spark ignition marine engine are warranted for
aperiod oftwoyearsor200hoursofengineuse,whicheveroccursfirst.
The federal emission limited warranty period ends at that time.
Thisemissionslimited warranty is notconditioned on the ultimatepur-
chaserusinganycomponentorservicethatisidentifiedbybrand,trade,
or corporate name (other than any components or services provided
without charge by Polaris). As the marine Spark Ignition (SI) engine
owner, you are responsiblefortheproper maintenanceof the engineas
stated in the owner’s manual. The maintenance, replacement, or repair
of the emission control devices and systems may be performed by any
marineSIenginerepairestablishmentorindividual. WhilePolarisrec-
ommendsthat allofyourengineservicebeperformedbyaPolarisdeal-
er, this emissionslimited warrantyand themaintenance instructionsin
the ownersmanual do not distinguish between service performed by a
Polarisdealerandserviceperformed by aqualified independentmarine
engine repair facility.
OBTAINING EMISSIONS WARRANTY SERVICE
To obtain warranty service, take your engine to the nearest authorized
Polarisdealer. Bring your salesreceipts indicating date of purchase for
thisengine.ThedealerauthorizedbyPOLARISwillperform theneces-
saryrepairs oradjustmentswithinareasonableamountoftime andfur-
nish you with a copy of the repair order. All parts and accessories
replaced under this warranty become the property of POLARIS.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
S Conditions resulting from tampering, misuse, improper adjust-
ment (unless they were made by the dealer authorized by
PO-
LARIS during a warranty repair), alteration, accident, failure to
use the recommended fuel and oil, or not performing required
maintenance services.
S The replacement parts used for required maintenance services.
S Consequential damages such as loss of time, inconvenience, loss
of use of the engine or equipment, etc.
S Diagnosis and inspection charges that do not result in warranty-
eligible service being performed.
S Any non-authorized replacement part, or malfunction of autho-
rized parts due to use of non-authorized parts.
