To continue with use, proceed as follows:
• Switch off the OFF/boiler switch.
• Operate the steam request button on the
iron until the steam stops flowing.
• Turn off the iron switch.
• Unplug from the mains electricity.
• Wait ten minutes and remove the safety
cap, unscrewing it without force.
• Leave the appliance to cool for another 10
minutes.
• Fill the boiler as indicated in Chapter 1.
• Carefully screw the safety cap back on,
checking that it is completely closed.
7. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any maintenance on the
device, always unplug it from the power
mains making sure that the product has coo-
led down before proceeding.
To clean the outside of the appliance, only use
a damp cloth and tap water.
Do not use detergents of any type.
Clean the iron soleplate when it is completely
cold with a damp cloth or with a non-abrasive
sponge.
For good maintenance of the boiler we sug-
gest using Kalstop, the special natural-base li-
mescale, distributed by Polti, and available for
sale at all major domestic-appliance stores
and online at www.polti.com.
8. KALSTOP
Regular use of Kalstop, every time in the boi-
ler is filled with water:
- Extends the life of the appliance.
- Allows emission of a “drier” steam
- Prevents limescale build up.
- Protects the walls of the boiler.
- Contributes to saving energy.
HOW TO USE KALSTOP
8.1 Open the phial and pour half the contents
into the Vaporella boiler filled previously with
water.
8.2 Start ironing the garments.
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Every 2 months, rinse the boiler with tap wa-
ter: the rinse water will be brown, indicating
that the Kalstop is working correctly.
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE WITH
KALSTOP
When the boiler has heavy limescale build-up,
leave just 250 ml of water in the boiler, add 3
doses of Kalstop, pressurize the boiler and
press the steam control button until the
steam stops. Turn off the appliance, wait at
least 2 hours until it is completely cool, rinse
the boiler repeatedly to remove all limescale
residue. After cleaning the boiler, proceed
normally.

9. STORAGE
9.1 Turn off the appliance and disconnect from
the mains electricity.
9.2 Wait for the appliance to cool down comple-
tely before storing it.
WARNING: Steam.
Risk of scalding!
When the water is particularly hard, use
greater concentrations (up to one phial per
litre of water).
WARNING: If, while unscrewing, the cap
spins freely or if steam is escaping, immedia-
tely stop the operation, ensuring that the
boiler is switched off and the power cable is
unplugged from the mains. Wait for the ap-
pliance to cool for at least (2 hours) and un-
screw the cap. PROTECT YOUR FACE!!!
