CONVENIENCE FEATURES
You can enjoy the sporty driving
c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s p r o v i d e d b y a m a n u a l
transmission with the Driver Shift
Control or TAPshift feature (if equipped).
To shift gears similar to a manual
t r a n s m i s s i o n :
1. Move the shift lever to Manual (M).
2. With the Driver Shift Control, move
the shift lever forward to upshift or
rearward to downshift.
With TAPshift, press either of the
shift plus (+) paddles (A) located on
top of the steering wheel away from
you to upshift, or press the back of
either of the shift paddles (B) behind
the steering wheel toward you to
downshift.

When one or more of the drive wheels
begin to spin from traction loss, the
Traction Control system will reduce
engine power and may apply the front
brakes and shift the transmission to
help regain traction.
To limit wheelspin and help maintain
directional control, you should always
leave the system on. However, if your
vehicle becomes stuck in snow or mud
and rocking the vehicle is required, the
system should be turned off.
•To turn off the Traction Control sys-
tem, press the (Traction Control)
button located on the center console
in front of the shift lever.
When the system is turned off, the
Traction Control light will illuminate in
the instrument panel cluster.

Traction Control
The Driver Information Center (DIC) in
the instrument panel cluster will dis-
play the letter M for manual position
and a number indicating the selected
gear.
While using either feature, the trans-
mission will have firmer shifting and
sportier performance. The transmission
will allow you to shift only into gears
appropriate for the vehicle speed and
engine revolutions per minute (rpm).
If the vehicle slows almost to a stop,
an automatic downshift will occur.
