Overview

The Spark LINK is a wireless guitar system designed for musicians seeking freedom from cables. It consists of a transmitter (TX) and a receiver (RX), both compact and featuring a 1/4-inch jack for direct connection to instruments and amplifiers. The system operates on a 2.4GHz frequency, providing a reliable and low-latency connection for live performance and practice.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Spark LINK is to wirelessly transmit an audio signal from a guitar (or other instrument with a 1/4-inch output) to an amplifier or effect pedal. The Spark LINK TX plugs into the instrument's output jack, while the Spark LINK RX plugs into the input of an amplifier or effect pedal. Once both units are powered on, they automatically pair, establishing a wireless audio link. This eliminates the need for a physical cable, offering enhanced mobility and a clutter-free setup. The system supports up to four Spark LINK setups operating simultaneously in the same space, allowing multiple musicians to use the wireless system without interference.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Frequency Range: 2.4GHz, a common and reliable band for wireless audio transmission.
  • Sample Rate: 24-bit, 48 kHz, ensuring high-fidelity audio reproduction.
  • Frequency Response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz, covering the full audible spectrum for instruments.
  • Dynamic Range: 96 dB, providing a wide range between the quietest and loudest sounds without distortion.
  • Latency: Less than 3ms, which is imperceptible to most users, ensuring a real-time playing experience.
  • Line of Sight Range: 70ft (21 meters), offering ample freedom of movement on stage or in a practice room.
  • Battery Life: Up to 6 hours of continuous use, suitable for extended practice sessions or multiple gigs.
  • Charging Time: Approximately 2 hours to fully charge the units.

Usage Features:

  • Easy Setup: The Spark LINK TX is designed to plug directly into the guitar's output jack, with an adjustable hinge to ensure a comfortable fit. The Spark LINK RX plugs into the amplifier or effect pedal's input. Both units are turned on by pressing and holding their respective buttons.
  • Automatic Pairing: Upon power-on, the TX and RX units automatically pair. The LED indicator flashes blue during pairing and then displays battery status once connected.
  • Multi-System Support: Up to four Spark LINK systems can be used simultaneously in the same area without signal interference, making it ideal for band rehearsals or multi-instrument setups.
  • Re-Pairing Functionality: If the connection is lost or needs to be re-established, users can double-press the button on the Spark LINK TX while both units are powered on to scan and re-pair with the RX unit.
  • Muting Capability: A quick press of the Power button on the Spark LINK TX mutes and unmutes the signal. The LED indicator flashes yellow and green to signify the mute status.
  • LED Indicators: Both the TX and RX units feature an LED indicator that provides visual feedback on various statuses:
    • Blue (flashing): TX / RX Pairing / Connecting
    • Green: Battery Level: 60% - 100%
    • Yellow: Battery Level: 6% - 60%
    • Red: Battery Level: Below 5% These indicators help users monitor the system's status at a glance.

Maintenance Features:

  • Charging: The Spark LINK TX and RX are charged using the provided USB-A to USB-C charging cable. Both units connect to a USB power supply (a 5V-1A power supply is recommended). During charging, the LED indicator on both devices displays the battery level:
    • Flashing Red: Below 5% charge
    • Flashing Yellow: 6% - 60% charge
    • Flashing Green: 60% - 99% charge
    • Solid Green: 100% charge
  • Auto Power Management: To conserve battery life, the Spark LINK TX automatically turns off after 15 minutes of no signal detection. The Spark LINK RX will also turn off after 15 seconds if it loses connection to the Spark LINK TX. This intelligent power management helps maximize the time between charges.
  • Manual Power Reset: In case of operational issues or if the device becomes unresponsive, a manual power reset can be performed. A small reset button is located inside a small hole on the side of the Spark LINK units. Users can gently insert a needle or paperclip into this hole and press the button once to reset the power, resolving potential software glitches.

The Spark LINK offers a robust and user-friendly wireless solution for guitarists, combining high-quality audio transmission with practical features for ease of use and reliable performance.
